Do you guys think the U.S. would fair well or poorly in a war with Iran?
>DONALD TRUMP’S USA boasts the most powerful armies the world has ever seen – but today military experts warned they would NEVER beat Iran in a military conflict even as the possibility of a hot war between Iran and the USA increased as British and US servicemen raced to the aid of two oil-tankers attacked off the Iranian coast in the Gulf of Oman.
>But military experts on both sides of the potential conflict know that despite a massive firepower advantage a USA victory is far from certain, especially according to one former ranking US Air Force strategist who now lives on the Straits of Hormuz.
>And here’s why – he writes:
1. Iran is a REALLY BIG COUNTRY – it is 3–4 times larger than Iraq, with a much larger population.
2. The terrain is more like Afghanistan, ringed with mountains, not deserts. It isn’t a good place for tanks to run amok.
3. Worse, the Strait of Hormuz is REALLY narrow, especially the shipping channel. Nearly all of it can be fired upon from Iran with short-range missiles or can be attacked from shore with small boats. There is NO WAY to try to sail tankers out during war times.
4. Iran is right – they probably CAN block the Strait in the event of war. No business wants to come under missile attack while in transit.
it would be Iraq all over again but even worse Iran would lose the conventional war but the ensuing insurgencies would be a disaster for the US
Jacob Cooper
Israel will drop a nuke. Problem solved
Jonathan Campbell
The straight of Hormuz is of no military value whatsoever if there were to be a war with Iran. And there isn't going to be a war with Iran.
Colton Parker
Win or lose this won't be Iraq or Afghanistan. This will be Vietnam level shit. If we push it, it will be a whole generation of men who come back horribly scarred or not at all.
The truth is, it's not a matter of winning. In order to win a war you have to decimate everything worth anything in the country. We haven't been able to fight that war since WW2.
Elijah Lewis
USA is going to lose its next major war (Iraq war was not major) and everyone knows it. Naval power is meaningless and communications are too advanced for overwhelming brutality, the soft normies would turn on it very quickly on seeing what that actually looks like. Imagine if the average American had seen what our boys did to German women and children in Berlin.
We’re too soft for a real war now.
Zachary Barnes
Burgers would have no problem lobbing missiles inside Iran like they did in Syria. It would have no problem with their conventional military either.
But it can't stop the Iranian proxies from chimping out everywhere at once. A war with Iran would be super messy.
Burger haven't even finished paying for the last two wars, why would they want to start another one now?
Ryder Peterson
>Naval power is meaningless It's really not. It's the one advantage burgers can flex on anyone.
Cooper Hughes
>The truth is, it's not a matter of winning. In order to win a war you have to decimate everything worth anything in the country
Colonel Kurtz's is that you ?
Adam Stewart
aircraft carriers are still very relevant
Blake Morris
Our American trannys will fuck Iran up. Send Specialist Ketchum, I'm sure the elite Iranian revolutionary guard us scared now.
Dylan Howard
This.
We've been in the business of toppling regimes lately, not winning wars.
If we go to war, it's proof positive Trump wants to leave a back door open for us to get fucked by multiple other countries.
It's possible he's selling us out.
Nolan Nguyen
It's just sabre rattling
The US is pretty much done for, in 10 years it will be Mexico
Christopher Barnes
>Israel will drop a nuke. Problem solved You know how I know you’re jewish?
Bentley Myers
HAH! Negative, just a vet who saw what pussy footing around accomplishes first hand. I to go play war in Iraq. If we go to Iran we are gonna get fucked up even if we "win".
The worst part about it is America at this point is just the biggest bully in the school yard. Russia and China are big bullies too, they aren't sure if they can take USA so they just point and laugh when we fuck people up.
The thing about the biggest bully is, one day somebody punches him in the nose and he bleeds. Sure he beat the shit out of the guy for it, but now the other bullies know he can bleed.
When that happens that bullies day in the sun comes to an end. This is what will happen in Iran.
Christian King
I'd be really fucking surprised if they were that willing to take that much responsibility for a war they seem to want and apparently encourage.
Nicholas Brooks
I hope the forthcoming war with Iran drives America to bankruptcy and collapse, leaving the EU as the world’s foremost superpower (we already have the most soft power, we just need America’s hard power to subside).
James Ortiz
This too. But why the fuck would we want war with Iran?
Josiah Allen
Op youre a faggot. Make one for Vietnam, Afganhistan and Iraq. Iran has more advantages you jew
Dylan Gomez
Well just borrow a couple trillion more from or grandchildren to pay for this war. AMIRITE Boomerbro?
Jack Robinson
The USA could fight that war trivially if it wasn't muh war crime, Iran doesn't have the air defenses necessary to stop us The decimation of a Iran could be executed in about 30 days. Power plants, oil refineries, shipyards, water treatment facilities, warehouses. You're only talking a few thousand critical sites to bomb, just using conventional weapons, if you're willing to let millions of civilians die, winning is easy
Jace Hill
Soft power? Lol where?
Luke Nguyen
We can't win a war with Iran it's why we haven't tried when everything was primed for it post 9/11.
Traitors now are trying their hardest to provoke Iran into shooting at us because time is running out.
Gavin Cruz

For sure, we could glass any nation on this planet if we could disable all the nukes. We can't though, if we fought war on the that level we would be nuked. Its not even a matter of wishing anymore. Those days are gone.
Anthony Morris
>This will be Vietnam level shit. If we push it, it will be a whole generation of men who come back horribly scarred or not at all. The difference is that during the Vietnam war there was still a concept of US as a nation state. Whereas now? Lol. You'd have to be the goodest goy or just plain dumb to fight for it.
Adam Edwards
Depends entirely on HOW we fight said war:
If it's another bullshit war of occupation hearts and minds affair like Iraq... then yes, we will absolutely lose. But if it's a good old fashioned 80s/90s style "park a couple cruisers and aircraft carriers offshore and bomb the bejeezus out of them until they agree to do whatever we say" affair then we'll be fine.
Ayden Long
it would be worse. you have to invade by sea to Iran cause no land border will let you in. You think Iranians are going to let America in with hugs? Iran is the size of Texas , their main forces are in well guarded mountains. their beaches are filled with small suicides boats. at sea.
Lincoln Richardson
I don't care who would win but i do know where the refugees would end up.
So how about america stops fucking up the world for their jewish overlords?
Easton Turner
why are the jews trying to get american to kill iranian for them
We would have such lovely little utopias if it weren’t for the migrants America has forced upon us through their interventions.

ffs, the whole point of 9/11 was to invade iran. get on with it already. look at a map. 1) 9/11 2) invade afghanistan 3) invade iraq 4) why so jumpy iran?
Jose Miller
>eu softpower
kek only the USA has softpower, it has yet to use it's hardpower.
Joshua Russell
remember when we where allowed to use air superiority and just glass shit from the sky? I do.
but fuck iran, let israel wage their own wars for once
Chase Kelly
>We could always tell the Mexicans no FTFY
Austin Martin
>There is NO WAY to try to sail tankers out during war times. Outbound supertankers, sitting low in the water, are restricted to 2 dredged channels. This means 2 sunken ships will stop outbound oil shipments for months, maybe years.
Colton Roberts
I personally doubt we'd lose if it was all-out 1 on 1, even with how costly it would be. But that wouldn't matter; it would never play out that way anyway.
Jonathan Watson
Dropping a nuke on Israel would solve a lot of problems.
No matter the cost, Iran must fall. We have received intel from our allies in the region of Iranian aggression. Today a tanker, tomorrow the White House. We simply cannot sit by and allow our enemies to disrespect us in such a fashion.
Hudson Foster
Daily reminder Sadam pushed Iran's shit in back in the day.
Colton Miller
>Naval power is meaningless >70% of the planet's surface is water
>remember when we where allowed to use air superiority and just glass shit from the sky? This. Except no, I don't remember it, because America hasn't had unrestricted ROE since fucking WW2. Gay and bluepilled.
Anyway, there won't be war with Iran. Trump doesn't want it and Congress doesn't have the balls to declare war (again, since WW2). Israel might get even more uppity and lay some mines or something, maybe pull another USS Liberty, but that'll be it.
Kayden Allen
That 'active duty personnel' is always highly misleading because it takes into account non combatants.
Landon Diaz
This sounds like some soundbite that I heard on the news today. Fear mongering at its finest.
Isaiah Harris
While i'd agree, are their F14's still functional? where are they getting parts, there's been an arms embargo forever
Gavin Thomas
Uh, migs brah? Even American fighter pilots lauded the russian jets, they are monsters of handling.
Elijah Ortiz
U.S loses even if they win, it's a pointless war that'll cost trillions and lead to tons of death.
Jordan Cooper
You can nuke Aircraft carriers.
Easton Jones
Considering how Iran would be backed by Russia and probably the chinese in order for them to bankrupt the USA in the war process, then yeah.
All the Iranians have to do is hold out, and create a full blown economic implosion of the US.
American anti-war sentiment is at an all-time high. Higher than pre-ww2, which took a full blown declaration of war and massive attack by a foreign nation for them to get involved.
Iran would be defensive in nature, driving a massive protest movement in the USA - far exceding the anti-vietnam war movement. And this one would be far more pissed off, since they could atleast quell the boomers with money. But now theres no money left.
They won't be able to do shit to the straight if there is nothing but craters up until 10 km inland and a few cruisers and carriers along the length.
Naval assets are almost definitely the plan anyway. Another boat attack or two and the US will use it as justification to bring down a few of the lads to 'guard' the straight. Iran will see that as provocation and will either retaliate or someone will do it 'on their behalf'.
I suspect a Trump war would start with scorched earth. Once a US military ship has been attacked hellfire will rain for a day and a night and take out so many military facilities (and an electricity grid and water treatment plant or two by accident etc etc to further the humanitarian argument) that heads will spin.
Won't be much US land action. Ground action is already in place for a whole bunch of ME nations to take that upon themselves.
Hudson Russell
With hypersonic anti-ship missiles carrier groups are sitting ducks
Aiden Gray
>it would be Iraq all over again but even worse Iraq was no problem.
Adam James
Mondern “wars” are such bullshit. We need to go back to the roots of war and target civilians.
Alexander Long
Naval power is important for certain things. As soon as an aircraft carrier gets sunk, they're all out of play, and now the navy is almost trivial for a land war. What, we can launch cruise missiles which is cool but has been demonstrated over and over again over the last few decades to not be a game changer.
Andrew Thomas
We don't have to put boots on the ground in Iran, we just have to ensure that the area bordering the strait of Hormuz is bombed round the clock.
Jaxon Anderson
I would defect if we invaded Iran. It's the one middle Eastern country I'm rooting for, the rest are a mixture of indifference or mild approval.
Samuel Watson
>ethnic makeup of current military might be the only reason I support this war let the shitskins fight and die for a change
A war now would tear USA apart. It would be an ugly war of attrition similar to the soviet invasion of afghanistan with Russia and China aiding the bleeding of america's military while the divided population at home would be at eachother's throats
Gabriel Walker
This. Irans proxies chimping out will spread this and the Bills are stacking up from the last couple of adventures into the middle east. Also the USA has been losing the moral high ground for decades.
Dylan Green
Well in order to win a war, you'd have to want to win first. Jewmerica has been destabilizing for the last decades and haven't decisively won anything in ages.
I'm somewhat happy that the military got a bunch of women, fags, and niggers to join so the US can get btfo and stay out of other people's business.
It'll be another Afghanistan unless occupation is out of the picture and it's simply bomb, bomb some more, and repeat.
Elijah Ross
checked
If the US tried to go to war with Iran I'd start placing bets on leftist terrorism in the US.
Asher Scott
1. the deepstate is trying to egg trump on
2. iran can't do shit if we went 100% in.
3. he would "lose" due to pressure on the left that would shit fling at him every day about how he is a murderous bomber.
They are litterally trying to bait him into it and praying he takes the bait while trying their best to hold a straight face till he falls for it.
Justin Wood
Oh please. That's what false flags or idiots are for. An attack on a US military ship with the name of a famous lib and the whole nation will be gagging for it.
Kevin Sullivan
>especially accordng to one former ranking US Air Force strategist who now lives on the Straits of Hormuz. >doesn't name the source literally tabloid tier
Joshua Ross
Jews and Saudis. They have more in common than you think, like really, really hating Iran and Shias in general.
Who knows why they're shilling for a war with Iran now. Maybe because they can see burger losing power and influence to emerging global powers like China. In a few years, the US might not be able to throw their weight around like they used to. Empires never last forever.
John Hall
I floated the idea of genocide to deal with insurgency in a strategy class and was told in no uncertain terms never to talk like that again or I'd be dismissed from service immediately.
The reason being, there is no good counter-argument. Historically, if you didn't kill all the warriors and enslave the women and children, you'd get insurgents. Sun Tzu knew this, Machiavelli knew this, everyone knows this. The problem is politicians can't stomach the necessities of real war so we pussy-foot around in Vietnam and Afghanistan and on and on.
Chase Watson
>As soon as an aircraft carrier gets sunk, These things are impossible to sink with anything less than nukes.
Carter Jones
true that the world wars really put a stick in conventional tactics (the ones that actually work), now its just lukewarm engagements and pacification and long attempts at occupation
I guess its ok though, I don't really want to genocide all Vietnamese people or Iranians or whatever, even though that would be the correct way to actually win the wars.
Brayden Sanchez
100% in would require months of buildup and unless they kept that underwraps then we would be hearing about it. If the US was going to seriously fuck Iran they would know its coming months beforehand.
Henry Diaz
I would not even want a win against Iran if it cost no lives whatsoever
We’d be stuck with it
Not exactly a win from my standpoint
Ethan Brown
They would win a war with Iran and eventually pacify their proxies, but it would cost a lot more than Iraq and Afghanistan combined. They just can't afford it, they might not even have the manpower.
William Foster
a war with Iran would absolutely be a death sentence for any chances of Trump getting reelected in 2020.
We've spent the last 18 years engaged in the longest military conflicts in US history, to the tune of millions of middle easterners killed, wounded, displaced, or missing; tens of thousands of American soldiers dead, wounded, mentally destroyed from the experience; and with a pricetag of trillions of taxpayer dollars. all for fucking nothing. and now they're flirting with war with Iran. the president who campaigned on pulling out of the wars in the Middle East. now wants to attack Iran or provoke them into an armed conflict. This would be a modern day Vietnam and the worst decision Trump could possibly make right now. What a fucking disappointment he turned out to be.
Owen Cook
>The whole nation will be gagging for it
Didnt work in Syria despite "muh children" and "gas". People saw through that bullshit.
Americans really dont trust their own government when it comes to foreign policy anymore.
Trump was elected, as well as Obama, solely because they were the "anti-war" candidates.
eh, total war wasn't always a thing, its come and gone and different cultures practiced more civilian murder than others.
Rome for instance wasn't super huge on genociding their conquered enemies, but integrated them into the empire so they could tax them. Then you had Mongolians who had no trouble killing millions of civs, then a long period when Euros didn't like killing civilians until Napoleon introduced it again
Jackson Gomez
>As soon as an aircraft carrier gets sunk Wrong, they won't be out of play, they'll just be restricted to blue water operations. Not important against Iran, but very important against China.
Also, sinking a carrier is instant causus belli for war up to nuclear war. 5000 sailors dead, probably more, and suddenly congress sees that we have only 75% of the carriers needed to "ensure american security), so now we go active and hard. I'd hate to be on CVNs 68 and 69 right now, at the end of their life cycles and about to be expensively decommissioned when they could instead be sunk by hostile powers and used to start a major war.
Jaxon Price
>genocide Genocide would be an option if it worked, it doesn't. They one thing they can spare is people.
>as soon as an aircraft carrier gets sunk, they're all out of play, Is that how it worked out for Japan? The catastrophic sinking of an aircraft carrier (which is unlikely to begin with), would immediately result in the loss of thousands of American lives. Just like after 9/11, Americans would want blood and anyone that gets in the way of that bloodlust will be steamrolled.
Ethan Brown
Yeah, nah, we can get in any war with MKultra.
Nathan Ortiz
shitty america trying to start a war again. fuck sake.
Lincoln Wright
People only care so much about offwhite babies. HD footage of a few US sailors in the water though is another matter.
Nathan Scott
>Americans really dont trust their own government when it comes to foreign policy anymore. That and blacks and beaners never cared anyway. Minorities don't care if a ship gets sunk, they see it as the white man's toys.
Liam Garcia
>but today military experts warned they would NEVER beat Iran in a military conflict even as the possibility of a hot war between Iran and the USA
That's stupid. Our economy is a hundred times what theirs is and our military is much larger and more advanced. We could clearly win a war with them the question is would it be worth it. Would we be willing to waste trillions? Would we be willing to take 50,000 or 100,000 casualties? Would we be willing to kill millions? Do we have the stomach for a full scale conflict and not just a skirmish? I don't think so.
That number is closer to 285. It hopes to be at 355 by 2050.
Julian Evans
>Do you guys think the U.S. would fair well or poorly in a war with Iran? Americans have the attention span of flies. Iran is mountainous and 4 times the size of Iraq where we can't even beat a few farmers with AKs. If you want to charge up a mountain in Iran, because you're that eager to die, then be my guest. I will stay behind and not give a fuck about mutts dying for Juice.
Wyatt Watson
Afghanistan and Iraq were divided, basically states drawn on napkins and held together by strongmen.
Iran is a nation, and fiercely nationalistic at that.
Invading Iran would truly mark America's downfall - we certainly wouldn't lose, but they'd bleed us dry in a way that makes recent occupations look like a papercut.
Hudson Lopez
Americans are war-weary, but we do need to cull the herd.
Caleb Moore
There will be no invasion. It will be a war of attrition fought with standoff range weapons
