>A ban on adverts that perpetuate harmful gender stereotypes, such as men struggling with household chores or girls being less academic than boys, comes into force from Friday across the UK.
>Scenarios likely to be problematic under the new rule also include a man with his feet up while a woman takes sole responsibility for cleaning up her family’s mess, a man struggling to change a nappy, or a woman unable to park a car.
>ASA chief executive Guy Parker said: “Our evidence shows how harmful gender stereotypes in ads can contribute to inequality in society, with costs for all of us. Put simply, we found that some portrayals in ads can, over time, play a part in limiting people’s potential.
>Advertising Association chief executive Stephen Woodford said: “Advertising at its best should be a positive and progressive force in society.

People who believe in socialism have shit in their head. You and I are on a far better level than the really poor, give your property and time to a person less well off.

Saw this earlier on BBC world news, they showed a white woman pulling food out of the oven for her white family.
Bentley Morgan
Remember when white men actually had it in them to fight?
So they've banned the stupid male partner stereotype? Oh wait this isn't for that and ads will continue to humiliate white males and make women look smarter
Jordan Parker
Technically yes, but we all know that this will be selectively enforced just like every other retarded rule in this country.
Bentley Hernandez
Is it still ok to call the queen a nasty whore in advertisements?

Connor Gray
Does that include that gilette one that shows men as sexual predators?
Landon Cruz
This will ironically enforce gender stereotypes in advertisements, because now advertisers will be too scared to show any women driving, or men doing house chores at all in case someone misinterprates their driving- or cleaning skills. So its going to mean less women behind the wheel and less men doing women's jobs in advertising overall.
Isaac Perry
It won't make much difference seeing as most UK advertising is already dripping with liberal pandering.
Tyler Lee
>girls being less academic than boys wut this never happens
Jonathan Clark
I don't want to imagine the world my grandchildren will live. If it keeps getting worse i'm going to pull a Varg and live in the woods with my clan of larping children.
Asher Johnson
surely they will also ban all diamond ads and valentines day ads in general, as those always imply that it is the man's job to be the provider
Wyatt Lee
The same people who think advertisements have an undue affect in culture think it is totally cool for Google and reddit to selectively ban conservative voices.
Austin Lopez
I have not seen an advert other than a billboard in the last 15 years.
