Well schools call the cops on kids for fucking bantz now. It's not even worth it to try to get good grades anymore because the school will find a way to fuck you over. So it pretty much degenerated to whores and social media drama.

They are all either addicted to porn or addicted to social media. Most of millennials are the same and a lot of them didn't grow up with a high speed internet connection in their front pocket. Some people here have high hopes for gen z but I think they are going to be even worse then millennials.

zoomer here (no ban mods I'm 20), when I was at secondary school (11-16) I learned how to do well on exams and almost nothing else. Anything outside of what we needed to know for the exams was waved off as "nah you don't need to know that"
I got a B in Spanish, yet still can't speak a word of it. I got an A in IT, but I know next to nothing about computers. I got As in maths and science but I was the nerdy outcast so I was watching Discovery channel and whatever other science channels there were at home since I was like 6. Looking back on it now, the entirety of maths was just adding extra shit to the basics.

TL;DR school is hell, and everybody with any semblance of a normal personality hates every second of it. It's designed to teach children to pass their exams and nothing more.

24 here, it was a fucking blast for me. I was always pissing around with my mates, no one took exams seriously.

I was born in 1991 and no shit, we played sports outside and fight. Yes, there were (((concerned parents))), but until my lil brother went to school (he's from '99) they were considered fools and treated accordingly.
Later, they have been put in charge.

I think the early-mid 2000s era was the best then it all went downhill. My highschool was known for being pretty reckless during those days, fights people doing stupid shit and nobody gave a fuck. Then some faggot really strict principal came and apperently made everything into that feminized authoritarian no fun allowed shit that sucked ass.

I'd never put my kids through the American school system especially a daughter. I could send a boy to a private Cath school but that's probably cucked now too. The all girl schools are notoriously slutty.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if you could get expelled these days by pointing finger guns.

i got an iphone in 9th grade and I thought it was the coolest shit. I stopped really socializing around that time but when I did it was still pretty cool. in high school shit was fucking great I took a lot of computer classes and so most of my day then was reddit. Had a buddy I would play pokemon showdown with all class in one of my last years.
I feel sorry for gen xers and boomers. I fucking loved how I lived then.

I wish I could see through the eyes of a gen z kid, my nieces and nephews are all pretty much exactly what you've described, and it makes me wonder how someone can live such an uneventful, shitty lifestyle. My understanding is that school is essentially a place where you go to hang out with friends, and listen to people babble on about social issues all day, other than that small pebble of knowledge, that shit is mysterious.
