To be fair we had great mythology (and other Slavs too, they all had more or less the same myths just with minor differences, some local monsters and different interpretations of gods), but as Europe got Christianized and paganism slowly died out, with little sources from that time we don't know that much. There are books on it, but I suspect much of it is a lot of guesswork or repeating some obscure myths that survived locally in small communities that could have been changed completely since the pagan times.

true, and i don't know so much I have been just off topic casual reading baltic myths, more precicely lithuania... from the little they have left after the german crusades...
