Why are millennials unable to save money?

why are millennials unable to save money?

Attached: 1560715786713.png (586x721, 230K)

Odd. My wife and I paid off over $100k of student loans between the two of us in less than three years. We lived like something out of a Charles Dickens move the entire time. Also paid off a car. We don’t make $500k/year, either.

>always with those retarded charity spendings

>$2000/month to feed 2 adults and 2 babies
>$800/month in car payments
>having life insurance at all(unless you work in a coal mine or somewhere similar)
>$2000/month to buy clothes
>$1500/month for charity
!??!?!?!?!?!!?!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

>10,000 dollars of clothes

Bitch, I can buy plain t-shirts from Kmart for 3 dollars which last multiple years.

Fuck off, normalfag.

Millennial don't have a job market that pays enough to warrant the traditional save-for-retirement strategy. The discrepancy in cost of living vs wages is too great and they will just wind up homeless anyway. On top of that, they see how unstable the alleged financial security worked out for boomers, many of whom are still having to work well into their 50s and 60s. In short, it's lack of faith that the tried-and-true financial strategies they were told would work will actually work.

So, what do you do when your future looks bleak? You fucking spend it on stuff that makes your life more comfortable in the here-and-now. Boomers and gen X do this too in taking out loans and shit so they can pretend they can afford things like vacations from shitty jobs they are overworked in.

Addendum: This is also why so many have a hard on for dumb shit like socialism and communism as some kind of savior.

pfffft 3 vacations a year

Also where the fuck in this country you get 40% effective tax rate? Even in god forsaken California you only pay 35% while living in the Bay area.

Attached: Capture.jpg (891x654, 59K)

they expect people to look at the bold text at the bottom and ignore everything in between

A part of it is getting fucked by the boomer generation and a part of it is being slaves to consumerism

>not buying a car outright

I never understood paying car dealership jews a monthly rate. just buy something you can afford with cash.

if i made 500,000K i'd still have 450,000K at the end of the year. not really because taxes. whoever wrote this budget is a fucking idiot.

What the fuck is that 40% tax even paying for?

>185k taxes

HAHAHAHAHAHA IMAGINE BEING SO DUMB TO WORK HARD AND PAY HALF OF YOUR MONEY TO GOVERNMENT AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA

TWO WORDS: WILLFUL SLAVE

>3 vacations a year
>18,000 dollars to charity a year

The idea is if you can afford a car outright its better to just take the monthly payments and through the rest into an index fund...you'll come out a head.

When you have children and a family, life insurance isn't pointless. Of everything you could have criticized...

I don't have a spare $20 laying around in a chunk sum, because I am a normal working person raising a family.

It sucks, but the game is well rigged.

>why are millennials unable to save money?
Because most of them don't understand finances and guys like me have figured out how to get it away from them. I love capitalism.

This is fucking fake, some 1% wrote this to make them look like everybody else.

They have K-Mart in Australia? What the fuck. Do you have Outback Steakhouse too?

fucking spoiled irresponsible brats
the idea of pinching a penny and being frugal is absolutely alien to these people as the tweet shows

>40% effective tax rate
lmao why even wagie

What they arent showing is the fucking tax write offs these people get at the end of the year either. This is just income, not returned tax revenue.

When you climb to mid 6figs it’s really bad. if your gross profit is 1MM/yr you end up losing very close to 50% in taxes

I live in flyover middle of nowhere and our 100k feels average. Of course our rent and expenses are lower but God damn is having kids expensive

I make about $600 a month. I want to kill myself.

Killing brown people in the Middle East

Illegal immigrant health care, sex changes, abortions, and needle disposal boxes in library restrooms.

>1.5 million home
>32k a year in student debt
>literally no savings for retirement

Millienials are fucking useless

who the fuck buys a 20,000$ car. you never buy shit new. maybe 14k max on a car with 20-30k miles and fucking pay it straight up.

This is bullshit.

Pic rel. me last year. I live in Georgia have a wife and two kids.

Attached: C670326E-75F7-4A5B-95AC-04982FD14FF6.jpg (2435x454, 328K)

So much of that can be cut, its retarded. Charity, gone, the rest costs no where near the quoted price. I could never see giving my kids expensive ass piano lessons. I make under 30k a year yet still above there end quoted figure.

>literally no savings for retirement
at the very top it shows they are both paying 18k each into their 401k

>own a home worth over a million dollars
>feel average
Are you fucking kidding me

Charity is probably for tax reasons

Just saw that, but at 500k they should be saving about 75k a year, not 36k. They aren’t saving enough.

Because they are predominantly consumers and have adopted that mindset compared to a producer's mindset.

This meme only works if you're megarich and have your own bullshit foundations.

This is the reason aristocracy is natural. There will always be those who, irrespective of their earnings, waste it all without saving a penny. Likewise, there are those who work, save, and build a legacy wile teaching their children to do the same.
This couple has two children who are used to having more spent on clothes in a year than I’ve spent in my life, who piss 18k away on experiences. Why? Save it, build something, tell them to do the same.
Or just cut out the holidays and use that money to hire an accountant who’ll get your tax lower than 40 fucking percent.

>having kids is expensive
It really isn’t though. If it actually was expensive, then the spics and niggers wouldn’t be able to shit out a half dozen of them.

>Childcare: 42,000
What the hell are you spending on them?
>Three vacations a year
You can just stay home and shitpost. Why spend so much money?
>Car payment
Buy a older car that works.
>Children's lessons
Cut down to a minimum. Kids hate it too. Why pay for all of it?
>Charity
Fuck that shit, don't pay a cent.
>Student loan
Should have been a tradesmen.
>Misc
Keep it to the minimum
And no Ammo costs? LEARN TO SHOOT.

WTF, you need to pay 32k/year for 10 to 20 years for student loan?
Also 'feel average' yet have 3 vacations a year, a 1.5 million dollar house, pay a fucking shitton for food, 800/month for fucking payement, fucking life insurance, charity and 2k a month for clothes?(and this is not even everything)
They must be jews, as they are the only people who would think that this is 'average' or 'poor'

>$42,000 for Childcare

What is meant by "childcare"? If it includes clothing the children, then why is clothes a separate line?

Plus, if the children are wee little, why are they taking piano and violin lessons? If they're teens, why are they spending $42,000 a year on them?

>$10,000 for miscellaneous

Who spends $10,000 on random shit? This doesn't even include home maintenance which they budget to be $5,000 a year

>3 vacations a year

Who takes 3 vacations a year??

>date nights every two weeks
Probably the parents going exclusively to expensive places to "treat" themselves
>$1.5M home
Just fucking stupid
>home maintenance
Probably includes shit like paying people to do shit like cleaning your own pool and mowing your own lawn
>Three $6,000 vacations a year
Totally unnecessary
>Car Payments
I don't understand why someone would buy a $1.5M home but lease a car.
>Clothing: $9,500
Only shopping at "high end" stores. "Fancy" to them might be all the shit that celebrities wear, but they're lying.
>Children's Lessons
>Charity
lol

These are just dumb people who don't know how to spend properly and instead just "spend." Idiot kids who think these are the things rich people are just "supposed to" do. Lots of unnecessary shit. But everyone here already knows this.

Attached: 1305886386718.gif (200x200, 1.83M)

Having kids and raising them responsibly is expensive.

They work shit jobs and make shit money.

>Vacations
>Lessons that cost money
>Student loans
That's just wasteful

>1.5 million dollar home
>payments on 2 new cars
>cant save money
I AM SEETHING

it is extremely expensive, just not for niggers and spics, but for the rest of us that pay taxes so the nigger and spic children can go to public schools, eat school lunches, ride on public buses, live in public housing, eat food provided by food stamps, go to college on public grants, on and on

>3 vacations a year

Damn. I haven’t taken a vacation in years.

Looks like they're trying to live like boomers in a boomer raped clown world. Silly millennials!

>car payment
$9000
buy a thousand dollar car, when it breaks buy another thousand dollar car.
>Childcare
$42,000
raise your own fucking kids
>three vacations a year
$18,000
lol fucking what?
>property tax
$20,000
get a cheaper home
>clohthes
$9,500
but nothing fancy...
>childrens "lessons"
$12,000
>student debt
stupid tax, fucking eat it

$110,500
ONE HUNDRED AND TEN THOUSAND
MAGICALLY FOUND IT, JESUS CHRIST

40% tax rate

Attached: 1560583832283.png (400x523, 585K)

>23,000 a year on food

cnbc are better shitposters than most of /tv/

Wife and I make $230k/year. The “rule” is you’re supposed to buy a home that costs 4x your annual income. We bought a home for $350k and just keep stacking cash through low payments, coupons, and being frugal. We spent years being poor and will never forget it.

>Says Germany

You'd pay $400k

>Low iq
God bless your heart

>40% effective tax rate.
kek

20k in property taxes, must live in NJ, or CA

This is terrible money management. How do Americans manage to do this.

>over $100k of student loans between the two of us
What good goyim you are.

>spics and niggers wouldn’t be able to shit out a half dozen of them.
They live ten to a one bedroom and get welfare while working under the table.

You know what? I dunno. I homeschooled my blue eyed sons as a single father working construction by taking them to jobsites with me and paying them $10/hr to work.

Today they're successful adults and better men than I.

I got a call today (Father's Day) and was thanked for not having their cocks clipped like their pasty, faggot peers. I think it might have something to do with the indoctrination their peers were subjected to in public school.

People raised to understand the real world (as do my sons who needed to while building houses) don't seem to drink s.oylent, get fucked in the ass, or fuck sluts. They don't spend their money on hookers and blow, and instead make their house payments with their top salaries as professionals (autodidacts, and not saddled with college debts or further indoctrinations) and at the top of their game.

Oh. Happy Father's Day user.

>buy 2 high-end cars brand new
>waahhh why don't I have any money

I bought this car for $6,000 from an estate sale, and it works perfectly fine. There is no reason to go into debt for a fucking car.

Attached: download.jpg (900x600, 91K)

JFC. I could live for a year on one month of that (misc.) category of spending.

Try living in California where it’s expensive to just even breathe, I can’t even make ends meet with registrations and taxes

btw I'm a zoomer. I'm going to drive this car until the wheels fall off and save up my money so I'm not a debt slave to some big-nosed banker.

zero percent interest rates and no job all by the blood mouthed satanic kikes

The hell you say. I bought a '80 VW Caddy I still drive for $2000 in 2013. 35mpg and use it daily as my work truck.

Fucking wastrels.

I'd live like an oil baron with a quarter of their money and still have most of it at the end of the year.
Fuck my life.

You think these people have the foresight to invest the money they don't spend? That money is going into a fourth yearly vacation.

No, it isn't. It's just hard work.

>Life insurance
the insurance jew strikes again.

>what do you do when you future looks bleak?
>SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY!
But spending all your money is what is *ACTUALLY* going to make your future bleak.
Even if job security improves, and housing becomes more affordable, etc you will not be able to retire at 65 if you've been spending all your money.

In game theory you would be making the worst choice possible
>things go well for the country, but poor for you
>things go poor for everyone, including you

Whether things are good or bad, the "winners" are the ones who kept competing and fighting for victory .

I failed miserably at life, but I've saved up almost enough money to buy a house with cash in a cheap state because I kept putting money away little by little.

I've saved $5 at a time for 12 years, and eventually it will pay off

Well, at least you're not paying taxes to murder nogs around the world user. Be at peace about that.

There are ways to improve your income. Check into it.

Unlike most with money, you would also still have brains.

fuck you YOU PIECE OF SHIT

'struth.

Have you seen the cost of living lately? It's through the roof. If you don't want to fuck your kids up, you're going to need to get a home at the very minimum. In many areas of the country, this is practically impossible.

>ha ha ha just move to the middle of nowhere bro
You need a job which means you have to live near one of the major metropolitan areas at a minimum.

Exactly. I'd have a bunch of money saved if I didn't buy things that I like but don't quite need. But I don't trust the Jews at the bank to not steal it. Fuck it, I'm going to enjoy life before the immigrats fuck us completely.

Attached: 1556763775270.jpg (750x369, 47K)

This is such bullshit. You aren't going to make money if it flows through your hands like water. I have rich extended family and they brag about how much they save, not what they spend. They have decent clothes, cars, college educations, lots of vacations, etc., but they're not stupid - they have money because they save more than they spend.

Attached: 1542079885258.png (613x384, 192K)

Where do i find a 100k earning gf?

>Children's lessons
Not actually necessarily evil waste. My kids were in Tae Kwon Do until they moved out. $50/mth/kid. Well worth it if only for the self-control it taught them. Never saw one of my kids in a fight - ever. I did see my eldest punch through a 4x4 post when he was mad at me once.

I was very glad he didn't hit me.

not here, bro

>Childcare (two children): $42.000,-
There's part of the problem.
No child costs $42.000,- a year to feed and clothe.
Oh wait they don't even include the food. What a joke.
>Date night every two weeks
Don't do those. The prices are too high and in the end you won't be alone with your wife anyway.
>$1.500.000,- home
Enter problem two.
There's no reason you should dive straight into one of those right after you graduate and get your $401k gross income job, unless you're in the business of (subsistence) farming and that's how much the land costs.
If you do it, you're significantly fucking your debt payments.
>Three vacations a year
Don't have them abroad, or even across states.
>BMW 5 Series
How to Douche For Dummies.
Again, don't get one. Living the fast life will just get you killed.
Save it for when you're not stressed about your job and you can enjoy the engine.
>$9.500,- on clothes for four
Wew.
>children's lessons
Teach them what you know, and help them learn what you don't.
>charity
DON'T. If you love your kids so much, spend that charity money on their lessons instead.
>$10k in absolutely random expenses every year
Some holes in the wallets and bank accounts I see...

If anything that summary indicates (if accurate) that mongoloids can earn a $500k income and get away with it.

it's muh 'legacy' media, they like to rub it in

I live in a village innawoods on the Pacific Coast. My life is a vacation.

Money isn't everything, but its going to be hard to be happy on such low income.
Try to find something you don't hate doing, and do it for some extra cash.
Delivering pizzas or something

Don't be stupid.

A car dealership with offer you financing at 0% interest. You should never under any circumstances buy a car outright.

You benefit because of inflation. You should defer the payments as long as possible because $200 in five years is going to be worth a lot less than $200 is today. As long as you are getting 0% interest, you win big.

Of course, this doesn't account for the fact that cars are a terrible investment and you should only buy cheap junkers. Even if you have to spend a thousand dollars every year to replace your shitbucket you're still going to be paying a lot less than you would if you bought a new car.

> Not counting sales tax
> Not counting property tax
> Not counting other fees and taxes
> Not counting the emotional labor inherent in living where all major firms openly discriminate against white Christian men who want white children

>Husband and wife each contribute $18k to 401k
>Meaning husband and wife each work
>They contribute equal amounts, meaning they likely make equal amounts
>$500k / 2 = $250k. $18k / $250k = 6% contribution
>Boomer job with 6% match detected

Also
>40% effective tax rate
Nah. They're picking a random percent and multiplying their income across the board. Their real taxes would be:
>$24.4k standard deduction
>10% (federal) on first $19.4k
>12% on next $59.6k
>22% on next $89.4k
>24% on next $153k
>32% on next $86.8k
>35% on the rest
>TOTAL: $104,246 (federal tax)

Assume 10% for state tax (some states are 0%, some are 4-6%, but we'll be generous) and you're looking at $150k tops -- not $185k. This is a made-up budget created by morons

LOL Sugar momma's hard to find, but well worth it. I have less than 40 hours in this year, but GF works two jobs.

I bought our home for $100 two years ago (fixer LOL) and she pays me $200/mth rent.

Yeah, I'm a boomer.

Fucking move to Puerto Rico and pay 4% corporate tax.

Also:
>$5k per month mortgage, implying million dollar home
>BMW 5 Series ($70,000 car) and Land Cruiser ($85,000 car)
>THREE vacations a year, averaging $6,000 (the cost to send a family of four on a week-long cruise is around $3,000)
>$800 a month on clothes ("no fancy XYZ" is lying bullshit - you can buy a suit every month for that)
>$1,000 a month on extra-curricular private lessons (violin lessons, sports, etc)
>$32k annually on a 10-20 year student loan debt means at a minimum (assuming 10 years and no interest) they took on $320k in student loans -- TEN TIMES the national average
>$1,500 every month to charity
>"Miscellaneous" not being counted towards "what's left" (or "what's left" not being counted towards "miscellaneous")

These numbers sound super legitimate

I see you as well are a member of the middle upper class.

I did own my own home. Bought a distressed 10 acres with 4/bd for $85k I borrowed from private investor. Auction price was $63k, so I pocketed $17k cash at closing.

Don't fall for the Job Jew either. I have been self-employed except for brief stints as a computer consultant in the '90s and as a marine biologist in 2001. Lots of deductions make it worthwhile as the business owner.

It doesn't take money to make money. It takes brains.

>paying into your 401k
>paying any charity at all
>spending more than $12k/year on food
>implyig life (or any kind of) insurance isn't a scam
>more than one vacation a year
>extra-curricular activities being that much
>not investing in a safe for your savings
It's like this was just trying to find ways to blow all your money so it looked like you have none at the end of the year. That or the person who volunteered their budget is a retard with money.
