Inflation is generally ok as long as it matches the population growth and increase in wealth in the economy. There is no universal healthy rate of inflation. 3% is great for some, but awful for others.

Unions should have no protection under the law than what is afforded to them by indirect means. This does not mean you can just massacre striking workers, but firing them is fine. If they're being unreasonable there is no need to keep up with their antics.
