And people in 15th century Bohemia were Christian. Go back a few centuries and you may find pagans but by 1403 when the game is set, pagans had all been converted.

By around the late 16th century it lost most credibility as an international institution. The nation states and post-Reformation academies completely supplanted any semblance of authority Christianity had culturally by at the latest the 18th century. By the late 19th century Christianity was socially unfashionable in the cities (complete social ostracization ended here, had been fading long time before, but definitely ended around here). By the mid 20th century the only place where Christianity held some modicum of institutional power as far as I'm aware of was some social issues in US politics, probably due to the Midwest states. Even that's been considered culturally backwards since the 80s.

I am for safeguarding cultural norms - I just wrote an entire paragraph about how social norms have been ruined by modern politics and globalism, and the same perp is causing descent into degeneracy. The thing is these "cultural norms" have been the rule long before Christianity was around in many societies (you can find exceptions as you say, but it's true as a general rule). I'm not sure why Christians make claims to inventing a safeguard against societal degeneracy when that has been the case long before Christian rule in Europe.
