I think we should definitely get rid of comments under articles and youtube videos. Maybe even the like and dislike buttons. Having them was a mistake. Keep forums and places where people can talk, but you have to actively go there, find a subject you want to talk about, or try to start your own thread, but that takes more work than just typing shit under an article, so fewer idiots will do it.

Goddamit, the internet in the late nineties / early two thousands was a beautiful place. Now it's hell.

YouTube is considerably less interesting when the comments aren't available.

I only see downsides in this change. It's now optionally possible to deactivate likes and comments. Everytime one or the other is deactivated theres a really good reason to avoid this videos.

Remember when the rating system was 1-5 stars? Those were the best days.
