Because, those we make into memes are harmed by it. If we buoy him up with our praise he's going to keep getting himself into these situations with the false belief the right wing has his back, and when he gets hurt or jailed we'll turn our backs on him, scorn him and disavow him. We always do that, when any of our folk heroes start to suffer adversity.
And no, it's not just antifa, glowniggers, and discord trannies, it's intrinsic to the board. We cannot love a loser. We're like that evil overlord who tells his minion "You have failed me for the last time!" and kills them, we do not tolerate the defeated. It's because so many of us don't actually do shit, and we live vicariously through our heroes. But if they suffer a setback, none of us want to identify with a loser, so we betray them. We've always done that shit.
