he wants to send the message to other foreign leaders that his administration is neocon so that they will fear that trump will use military power, and he wants to convince the republican party domestically of this as well, so they won't resist his presidency, even though trump himself continually foils their long term plans for military aggression

I don't think Bolton would do that, he seems okay/loyal, he just loves war for some reason, but maybe the "deep state" (CIA, etc.) or Israel (false flag) could do something.

Iran knows it's not in Trumps interest to go to war with them. This makes any threat a whole less intimidating. So to counter that they create an image that Trump is always on the verge or being persuaded by everyone around him to pull the trigger for real.
While Bolton and Pompeo actually want war, the fact that it's in the news like this is for show. Otherwise Trump would have fired them already for publicly undermining him.
Trump appointed these men and can fire them any time. The fact that he doesn't should tell you what's really going on.

Look at it this way Ivan: Trump lets Pompeo and Bolton bring America right to the brink of war and then fires the Defence Secratary Shannahan. Now it is said Bolton was walking all over Shannahan but now he his ability to drive policy has been crippled. America cannot have a war without a real defense secretary. And a defense secretary cannot be appointed till after 2020 election. I think there is a bigger game afoot. Also think, The war with Iran agenda was always driven by the Lucifarian Jews, but Trump is at war with that clique (the financial Oligarchy clique) and is closely aligned with the Chabad Lubavitcher Jews.
