Well I mean if it's closer to the day they get their state-handouts, then you can haggle for cheaper, and if they want to buy something they will try to get you up to £50, but either way they will hassle you for more money after.

Polish isn't any harder than Russian, and I learned Russian just fine. After the initial hurdle of the different grammar and sounds, it just took a lot of practice.

From what I've seen, Poles are about as far away from Belarusians in genetics as ethnic Russians are. But their culture is closer to Russian (and language closer to Ukrainian, albeit most of them speak Russian instead). I'd say that their system here isn't a disaster. Society here is orderly enough. It's not rapidly degenerating like the West. But their economy is too socialistic, so a ton of young Belarusians go to Russia for work. It's just not super conducive for young people to start families, which is the future of any society.
