>Here is your bill bro
Here is your bill bro
>Why yes of course I made sure to have health insurance before I went to the hospital, how could you tell?
>goes to emergency room for a tummy ache
>has no insurance
What a retard
You wasted resources for a tummyache. Emergency room is for emergencies. Imminent death situations
I like that he said "Ran some tests" instead of saying he got a CAT scan even though you can clearly see it in the bill hoping people wouldn't notice it.
Americans are so rich that 23k dollars is literally nothing to them. Us taxed-to-death Europoors can never understand that.
>spent $12,000 when some pepto bismol would have solved his problem
wew
And now ask this faggot to post the follow up bill
"Insurance pays: $12,281
You owe: $150"
Lol he doesn’t just go to urgent care
It says he has no insurance
>has tummy ache for one day
>goes to ER to get a fucking CAT scan
Some people deserve to be poor.
Stupid fucking Ivan
>Giving them your ID and SSN when they are required to treat you regardless
>go to the ER for a tummyache
>no insurance
These subhumans deserve what they get
I wish that were true....
>goes to er for gas
>demands tests knowing he has zero insurance
Get fucked faggot.
>has no insurance
>goes to the emergency for no reason
>does not check the prices beforehand
blame only yourself
This. Stomach pain for women isn't even uncommon because they often try to eat as much as men despite having smaller stomachs or even mistake period pain for stomach pain. Sometimes you've just got to try helping yourself instead of expecting other people to do it for free.
>$6000 for a cat scan
u wot m8?
Some Americans are rich, however It can't be that much to pay for fucking insurance.
I have two private health care perks through work here in the UK and at best i'd get all these tests done within a week.
This guy walked straight in and had them all within 6 hours.
I would honestly prefer the US system if it just fixed its damn prices.. (An MRI is $500 here; CT $800, X-Ray $160)
Cause i'd love to just walk in when i feel like shit and get checked out then/there
>6,000$ to lay down in a magnet tube for 10 seconds
$1500 a month
t. just had to pay $4500 in 3 months overdue so my wife can see a doctor
This. Imagine being so weak you go to a doctor over every slight discomfort you feel.
When you add up our taxes, cost of "free" healthcare (30-50$ a month), overpriced cellphone plans and car insurance, our complete absence of tax benefits for filing as a married/common law couple, it is vastly and ridiculously cheaper to be American and pay for a decent healthcare plan and get all the same shit we have here and then some.
There is no excuse for being a nigger.
My insurance is roughly 100 dollars a month through where I work, was in the hospital for a week and my final bill was about 1500 dollars.
Yeah we don't have regular 9 to 5 jobs, no cushy workplace anything for us.
Feels good having $400k turnover to skim whenever we need though.
X-ray, cat scan and ultrasound in 6 hours? In my country this would take three days.
>go to McDonalds and sign up for the McMastercard
>Load card up with $12,500 of medical bills and a large fry
>default on payments and file for bankruptcy protection
>Become an indentured servant to the Clown King
>Spend the rest of your days wiping down tables after Basketball Americans have spent their SNAP money for the month
Truly living the American Dream
To be fair, though I doubt it is true in this case, when you are in desperate pain you will agree to just about anything. I have had to go to the ER recently because I had severe viral infection in my head causing me to projectile vomit nonstop, the entire world was spinning like I was shitfaced drunk, and it didn't stop for about 12 hours. They jewed me into doing an MRI and a CAT scan because all I wanted was for it to stop and I was in no mindset to know what i was agreeing to.
You think that doctors are there for your best interest so you just do whatever they say is best. Too bad that isnt the case.
>pay lawyer a $1000 an hour because he knows how to file paperwork after your fat ass falls off the machine and you decide sue the hospital into bankruptcy.
fpbp
Stupid people deserve to get punished, it's the only way they learn.
Sadly, here in Europe, all of our doctors and hospitals are constantly at their limits because of niggers, boomers and other subhumans going there on the taxpayer's dime for every shitty little thing.
fuck'em
Also feels good only having to devote an hour here and there and maybe a few days of solid work a month though, and spend the rest of our time at the pool, having romantic outings, or just sitting on our back deck looking over 40 acres of our very own beautiful desert and playing guitar.
Life's expensive, but good.
You have the mistaken impression that health insurance will cover your medical expenses. Insurance usually only covers a % of the bill and only after you've paid a copay and a met your annual deductible (usually in the thousands). So you're paying hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars every month for a plan that won't begin to even cover a percentage of your bill until you've paid a considerable chunk out of pocket.
LMAO GF
>B-b-b-but highly educated people should have to work for free so i can get free health care.
Commies
why the fuck is CATscan 7k?
Who fuck gets a cat scan because their stomach hurts.
Why not?
stop talking to yourself mental patient
Because they got it at 3am on Tuesday and only had to wait 15 minutes. The lesson is, don't go to the ER for gas.
Probably all the professionals walking around as it's being done. $1000 an hr anaesthesiologist, two $300 an hr techs, a few $100 an hr nurses, two $500 an hr analysts, $1400 loan costs on the machine, the $1200 single-use bedframe and ancillaries.
i got banned from my local hospital because i said i had a rash on my anus, and the nurse knelt down to check it out and i blew a king size fart in her face and laughed like a hyena.
That's the rate hospitals charge insurance companies. The insurance companies go "lol how about $900".
Because the people that built it, financed it and are taught to use it are supposed to get something called money in exchange for their service in providing a life saving tool.
Strange concept huh.
That sounds like a shitty deal
Seethe
It costs far less than that in other countries that use identical machines.
That's cheaper than a hotel for the same amount of nights.
Why the hell would you go to the emergency room for stomach pain?
Yeah, because they give 6 months to save up for it before you can get an appointment.
>CAT scan for a stomach ache
This dude got scammed hard
becuse you are supposed to.
How much was your bill?
Yes and our lowest tax bracket is 33%.
I rather have sane taxes and pay a monthly premium than being raped by the taxman.
Episgastric pain thats persistent for many hours is a possible presentation of MI. Many a person has checked in with GI discomfort and been given Omeprazol when they should have been rushed to the emergency cath lab.
But you all just wanted to be smart-asses on the internet for upvotes, right?
>I go to the ER for cramps
I needed one once because they expected I had a kidney stone or some kind of bowel obstruction. Nearly died too thanks to an allergic reaction to the dye. Had to go from being scanned to the ICU for an hour. Thank God for insurance, it was over $200k and I only had to pay $2000ish deductible.
But how is he going to pay that bill when he's already $90,000 in debt from his English major?
Is this why baristas need a $15 minimum wage?
It probably wasn't a CAT scan. Hospitals use these Rev Codes to group their tests, and they're notoriously bad at naming them because they aren't standardized
OP, I don't think that image is of your bill, but if it is, demand an itemized one and look for charge lines that don't make sense. Also demand a self-pay discount, they'll give it to you because it increases the probability of them getting any money at all when you're uninsured.
>receive bill
>call the hospital
>tell them all you can afford is 5$/month
>they rather take your scraps than nothing at all
>pay 5$ a month kek
I've seen that picture a hundred times, it's a slide thread. OP only posted once.
How much do you typically pay per year for coverage in the US?
>stomach ache
sounds like a morbidly obese retard
>hypochondriac
>uninsured
dont worry, tax payers will foot the bill
Imagine being retarded
Maybe try own solutions before wasting hospital's time? I agree with these costs because they keep the people from coming to hospitals with a little finger pain and it turns out they only have a bruise. Jesus when I was a kid in this shit country I used to pretend I tripped so I get out of going to school so I can get a few xrays done and pretend my foot hurts so I can play Call of Duty Modern Warfare all week. If you have to pay. Make sure it's serious. If you go and get a huge bill. That's your own fault dumbass polak
A cat scan should cost $300 as should all of the tests.
Just showing up at the ER costs over 3k come on this should of cost $1500 max with no insurance.
This is why healthcare is a scam in America.
I pay $18000 a year for full coverage of basically anything and everything.
Last time I had stomach pain I took a fat shit and it got better.
Good point.
>memecapitalists retards thinking that this would be the equilibrium price in optimal conditions
>Also demand a self-pay discount, they'll give it to you because it increases the probability of them getting any money at all when you're uninsured.
This. Two years ago, I ended up in the Vanderbilt ER because I managed to get a systemic strep infection in the two-month period after one insurer dropped all the poor people in Middle Tennessee but before the new coverage kicked in. Told them what the situation was, and a $30,000 bill including three days of inpatient IV antibiotics and a surgical correction of an abscessed lymph node turned into an $11,000 bill which they allowed me to pay off at $250 per month.
In any case, it's better to be able to just go to an NHS hospital and get all the necessary diagnostics done without thinking 'am I being scammed?', 'will insurance cover this?' etc
Lmao.
So stomach pain is a heart attack now. The absolute state of cuckland
You should be a financial officer at a hospital, that's some serious insight.
A CT will highlight any number of GI obstructions/issues, which obviously are on the differential for a guy who checked in with... a GI discomfort. Afterall, for all you know he might be having volvulus and will be shitting out his necrotic bowels in the next 12 hours.
Does anybody on Jow Forums think before they post any more, or do you all type with your asses?
>$1500 a month to make sure you dont die in the streets.
You trully are the goodest goys around.
well thats assuming a radiologist actually reads the scan, most of the time if theres nothing major going on they are going to miss it. At best they have like 5 mins to reach each scan its ridiculous. and most of the time they are off site.
So make sure if you ever get a scan to get a copy of it and read it yourself. Med fags like to believe what they are doing is difficult it really isnt.
Can't wait for convolutional neural nets to make radiologists obsolete
>At best they have like 5 mins to reach each scan its ridiculous.
Gotta bill a 1 hour minimum y'know
Gastric discomfort is one of the leading type atypical heart attack presentations. Fuck off moron.
>Maybe try own solutions before wasting hospital's time?
Sweet let me just run a cardiac and gastrointestinal diagnostic lab from home. I know when you're 22 and your medical history is maybe a knee scratch some years ago that you might not "get" why certain things are done in an ED, but how about you keep your shit opinions to yourself.
Bro, it’s not what you think. I make $138k/year, but I have a wife and two kids to support. Factor in a mortgage payment of $2k/month, car payments on two very modest cars At $850/month, cable/internet/cell of $180k/month, student loans $840/month, food at $1000/month, car insurance at $150/month, family gym membership $160/month, has at $300/month, close to a 35% tax rate after state and federal, and just the misc expenses that come up from kids, house repairs (HVAC died two months ago -$8k), and you’re “baller” paycheck is gone instantly
Same reason 1 pair of latex/vinyl gloves is $100 instead of $0.05 (regular price) in the hospital
Corruption
I'm sure they'll pass the savings on to you. Now you'll only have to wait 7 months instead of 8 to see the robot.
They bill by procedure at a hospital, you're thinking of therapists.
>$300 to get an examination in the middle of a weeknight during sleeping hours requiring no less than 6 professionals who have spent over a decade each in training/education, for multiple hours of work
>$300
I’m just a lowly QC inspector and I ain’t getting out of bed for an “emergency” for less than $500.
>let me just run a cardiac and gastrointestinal diagnostic lab from home
How about you take some antacids or other over the counter medication and see if the problem persists instead of doing nothing for six hours and then going immediately to the hospital?
>meanwhile in Russia
Here's your hospital room bro
lmao, go talk to the billing department about it. seriously. we had a major health scare in my family a few years back, $800k+ in bills. We payed less than $5,000 when all was said and done. You talk to the hospital, they almost always have some forms you can fill out to knock most of the cost down. Failing that, just refuse to pay. They can't come after you for the money, instead they'll sell it to a collection agency who, again, can't really come after you for the money. Eventually they'll sell to another agency, and then to another, and eventually they'll stop calling all together, it gets written off.
Insurance in America is a shitshow. And it's all the government's fault. The linking of health insurance to employment and the group policy model where no one person in the group can be charged more than any other person in the same group for the same coverage - irrespective of comparative health - has wreaked havoc on pricing. Couple that with enforced regional monopolies that apply only to health insurance and no other insurance type in America. For instance my primary residence is insured in Rhode Island. Most of my rental properties are insured in Florida. My car is insured in Maryland. My motorcycle in Florida as well. My health insurance is in-state. Because by law, it has to be.
When I still lived in NY, my family policy cost $2,700/mo for a policy with a $1,200 deductible and a $6,000 maximum annual out of pocket. This was in Suffolk County, one of the richest counties in the state. For shits and giggles I used Blue Cross's website and assembled a package with every single thing the same. Except I used an address in bumfuck nowhere Wyoming County, NY. The exact same policy in just a different region of the same state was about 1/5 the price. Something like $560/mo if I remember right.
The government broke health care access in America. Now they wanna act like they're the cure. Fuck that. The only cure for this clusterfuck is deregulation and interstate competition. There's no rational reason that I can comparison shop for every single type of insurance wherever and with whoever I want except for health insurance.
cat scan is not magnetic
>this is why youre poor
What kind of retard goes to the emergency room for a stomach ache without health insurance
Easy there greedy. He said he knew how much on-demand 24 hours emergency care and imaging was worth, and it's less than a used cell phone or a fancy dinner. You'll work for what we pay you, slave.
>cable/internet/cell of 180k/month
>180k/month
>180k
well there's your problem
When a condition mimics something much more severe, you rule out the severe first; rather than assume its something mild and hope for the best.
I know its easy to have big balls on here and to be shooting out these pseudo-solutions, but reality is a little different
The same kind that posts the same shitty MS Word document every day for years and never replies to his own thread.
Cats suck and make you gay
Get a dog
how fucking braindead do you have to be to go to the ER in the US because of a minor stomach pain that hadnt even lasted for a full day
fucking millennials
If I could strangle you through the screen, I would
>t. mongoloid who thinks everyone with a minor headache or stomach ache should take CAT scans and that this would overencumber literally any health care system
