The whole mess at the border is actually easily solved. How? — By using the military to enforce the law.
>But muh posse comitatus! You're an idiot; plain and simple: 18USC §1385 — Use of Army and Air Force as posse comitatus Whoever, EXCEPT IN CASES AND UNDER CIRCUMSTANCES EXPRESSLY AUTHORIZED BY THE CONSTITUTION or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
>US Constitution; A1, S8, Cl 15 >To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and REPEL INVASIONS; and >US Constitution; A4, S4 >The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, AND SHALL PROTECT EACH OF THEM AGAINST INVASION; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.
Trump doesnt use his power because Kushner is whispering in his ear the whole time that "doing X and Y will not be a good look, we need reelection in 2020 and instead lets do something else"
Trumps very easily led by people if you frame everything as being ultimately his idea from the start and being really great and fantastic.

I saw this pic a while ago (along with an analysis which I'll post), and given the thesis above it seems essentially correct — what's interesting is how the author essentially posits that the people in congress will knee-jerk a reaction and unknowingly commit Treason.
I know remember Obama saying he was going to end the Patriot act restore the constitution they sa8he was a constitution scholar yep believe it voted for him he made it worse Trump talked a good game so I vote for him big Nothing I'm done voting need just except that the Republic is dead fuck it
You know, I have an alternate theory: Trump wished to return to the political-structure and mores of his youth — as such he doesn't want to do anything that would "damage the system" but rather bring things back into the alignment he remembers.
The problem with this is that there are fundamental differences to what once was; to wit: compromise between those who want to kill you violently and those who want you to prosper would result in something like having you suffer in a coma for the rest of your life, then discarded w/o ceremony when you die.
IOW, I'm not sure he actually realizes just how important this invasion is to the future of America — after all, he treats it like the US can absorb infinite foreigners with no ill effect... which we can see is not the case. (Just look at how SF became a literal shithole in less than 25 years due to unlimited immigration.)
