Bros, how do you cope with the thought of death? For the atheists out there, how do you cope with one minute you are and then...you aren’t?

Don’t think about it.

I'd be more useful to nature as worm food.

Jesus.

Do you remember before you were born? That's what it will be like. Until you're reincarnated with no memory of your previous life of course.

I like the idea of being a ghost after I die, and shitposting around for centuries.

Bill Hicks - "It's just a ride".

I think you mean, until God calls the dead to resurrection and judgement.

>how do you cope with the thought of death
You worry about the things that you can change, since you can actually do something about them. For things that you cannot change, don't worry about them, as you are wasting your limited time.

If there's nothing after death but the void of oblivion, then it would be like before you were born. Peaceful.

It is a scary concept when you are young, as you get older you just see it as an eventual release from all the shit you have lived through.

Don't worry about it. When you're dead, time is incomprehensible, so trillions, quadrillions, infinite years can pass without you even realizing it. Then eventually the universe will realign in the same form that it took that led up to your birth and you'll be back here before you even realized you were gone. Have fun being stuck in a loop for all of eternity. Dying and staying dead is a much more pleasant idea tbqhwy.

I remember watching a video that made a pretty convincing argument for reincarnation just on the grounds of 'if you popped up once, why couldn't it happen again'

most of the time i wish i was an ass or mouth shot instead of a pussy shot.

Worrying or not worrying are equally as valid, as you're just a string of chemical reactions that one day will dissipate, whatever you do it whatever emotion ypu think is of no overall consequence. Choosing to go on a raping spree in a third world country where you're much less likely to be caught is actually objectively more useful, biologically speaking, because that's the only objective purpose in a godless universe, to procreate. If you're an atheist and not actively working on impregnating all the women you possibly can, you're not fulfilling your only purpose here in this short life.

The thought of not existing honestly doesn't bother me.
Whatever it is about religion that appeals to people, it never really hit me.

I didn't arrive at atheism through philosophizing or pseudo-intellectual masturbation; it's just not the way I'm wired.

Easy! You are going to die one day. The universe will also die one day. It will be like none of us ever existed and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. It's called positive nihilism, αδερφέ. Accept it, embrace it!

atheists aren't people.

At least the Turks will be gone one day as well

I'm never gonna die

only people without Jesus Christ fear death.

knowing you will be judged but your debt is paid by your savior whom you have put all trust in and you will be united with him forever and ever you understand that this life is not the end.
physical life is meant to be lost. and only servants of the Lord will live forever
you should fear spiritual death if you dont have the Lord because you will die twice.

The key to life is knowing one day you will die.

>go offline

thus quoth the monkey.

Checked. Out of sight out of mind pilled

I would rather die and become nothing than to become a fucking servant. Die on your feet and not your knees you craven fucking leaf.

kek we can blame you for the eu though

Yes! And they will be gone before we are. It's been foretold! But none of it will matter in a some billion years. Our universe will have reached heat death and there will be no sign that any of us ever existed. Like that has ever happened or will ever happen matters. The trick is to see this as a good thing.

It's an inevitable. Everyone dies, everything dies. Everything. Nothing is infinite except maybe the universe.

Who knows, our mastery of physics might reach a point where we prevent the universe's end, or just make new ones to slip into at our leisure

If only death was real. Eventually all stars will die and only black holes will be left in the universe. The black holes will consume each other and form one giant black hole that will consume all matter, energy and space. Once the whole universe is consumed the black hole will explode in a big bang and all of it will repeat again. There is no escape, if you kys you still will be born again. The cycle never ends.

A legit Christian wouldn't say this. It's your job to save them.

That also works.

I don't fear death. I fear being mangled or maimed to the point where my body and mind is destroyed, but I am somehow kept alive for years of agony.
In Norway we have a saying; A coward dies a thousand times. A brave man dies but once.

>only people without Jesus Christ fear death.

Retarded and demonstrably false.

It's inevitable, but I'm not going to rush it. I retire in 10.5 years, so I really don't want to rush it!

I gladly serve my Lord because he made me and he saved me.
all glory and honor is his because he is the creator of life and all things are made for him and his people.
you clearly dont understand the Love of the Lord. but I pray you do. I cant explain it to you. you see things so black and white.

i've had a great life. that is enough.
btw, i am a spiritual person but don't need it to be ok with death.

>In Norway we have a saying; A coward dies a thousand times. A brave man dies but once.
Do they like Shakespeare in Norway?

Checked.

We are all going to die user, no use bitching about it. Stop being a faggot and live your life to the fullest while you can.

Don't be a delusional nigger now. That some Kurzweil shit (He is a kike btw) and the scientific world mostly laughs at him. Our grandchildren may be alive when we reach longevity escape velocity and live for a couple hundred of years. Their grandchildren may have bio-synthetic copies of them taken before they die. But sooner or later, humanity will go extinct. And there is nothing we can do about it.

why would you fear death when you know you have everlasting life?
you people and your physical world and your attachment to it. really sad

You leaves are unironically the most intelligent of the Anglosphere - I mean UK still got some old guys who are smart, but in terms of fresh generation and recent academic activity - you're owning it.

>all glory and honor is his because he is the creator of life and all things are made for him and his people.
Ever stop to think what an egotistical cunt that would make him out to be then?

Sitting all alone in his basement before the creation and needing to make something so people would love and worship him...

Wait, by that logic is Moot god?

One minute I am one minute I am not sounds good. Unfortunately death seems to mean something else! Like one minute here next minute there!

That theory has been rejected. Now all signs point to a simple heat death instead. I do prefer this version, though. It's more poetic. Plus, it means that everything that can possible happen has happened and will happen infinite times. Meaning we have defeated the Jews infinite times.

hahaha

someone needs to invent the totally painless death machine. you go in, bam, done. over before it can even register.

>I cant explain it to you.

We know.
You can't relate your completely irrational religious feelings to us any more than I can relate to you how ridiculous your religion appears to me.

I suppose. I can't for the life of me remember where I first heard that line, but I wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was from a Shakespeare play. I've heard many of my friends and relatives quote that sentence over the years, so..

It'll come eventually. I don't mind if it comes sooner rather than later since I'm not doing much with my life anyway nor do I really want to do much either.

Casting couch

It's called medical assisted suicide. We go out seeing pretty dreams.

Fpbp. My own death doesnt exist because i wont see it in my lifetime

You already know what’s its like lad just embrace it

I believe God created this realm as a testing ground, you never existed before you came here and you will be chosen to exist or not exist afterwards dependent on your conduct here and your expression of gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity of existence. I try to conduct myself according to what I think God, the creator of this realm, wants of me, and when I die I just await judgment. Thats how I look at it, and I sleep easy. Hopefully I get enough XP points in this reality to be allowed into the next level

Any number of reasons. I've known lots of true believers in my life, and they didn't fear death any less than non-believers.

The most basic reason is that fear of death is instinctual.

I’m more afraid of the pain od death

I dont know the mind of the Lord. he does whatever he wants and I wont judge him or question his choices.
all I know is I am put on this world to serve him and give him glory and he has helped me overcome the world so that I can be part of the world to come.
if you think this life will last good luck. if you think you wont face judgement you go girl friend.
let me know how well facing the Lord works when you need to stand on your own deeds in the face of pure perfect judgement,

Are you seriously telling me your life is so awesome you can’t stand the thought of it ending? Yeah... didn’t think so.

Some of us dont need to cope
Religion is for those that do
I wouldn't even consider myself an atheist, more of an agnostic

>Bros, how do you cope with the thought of death?
Why would I need to cope with it? I kinda look forward to it one day
Nothing scares me more than the thought of being reincarnated against my wishes.

Also, you are every bit as attached to the physical world as anyone else. You're special, just like everyone else. Grow up and get over it.

We don't know what consciousness is.

The only possibilities are:

1. The atom is the fundamental unit of consciousness. Therefore, all matter is conscious.
2. Something supernatural.

In either case, death will not be the end of sentience

Does it matter if pain is there for a process? It's death, transition, I guess there is nothing wrong with painless death it allows for easier process. I myself never understand why that part matters so much to all, I mean there is bigger fish to fry like ensuring you are prepared to not be effed over on the other side and endup back where you left off!

cool. i was going to have to use my backup method.

>Cowards die many times before their deaths;
>The valiant never taste of death but once.
>Of all the wonders that I yet have heard.
>It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
>Seeing that death, a necessary end,
>Will come when it will come.

i was just thinking of that. kek

>after us is all black

Dying is not scary. Living forever would be the most horrifying torture.

because non-erotic pain is undesirable. it's not a tough choice to choose painless over burning in flames or countless other awful options.

if you have Jesus Christ and you have turned from sin to rightness, from unbelif to belif, and you put your trust in him and accept his choices and path. he will cover your sins with his blood.
saved by grave.
no deeds can save you or count towards your salvation.
you have the Lord or you dont. that's the point system.
people who think if I die and im a good person God will understand that...yeaa no he wont.
you need Jesus to cover the debt of sin in your life. you pay in death. yours or the Lords. its so simple. people dont understand

OP, being dead is kinda like being stupid.
Everyone around you knows - but you don't.

I've been dead for an eternity yet I feel like I've always been alive. Maybe we are doomed to exist.

I have more attachment to the idea of our large and growing universe to care that much whether my death is spectacular. It is already a miracle that I am alive and able to understand enough to be thankful for my life.

All men die but not all men die whining like a faggot

>Death won't be the end of sentience.
What? Your consciousness is the result of physics. Nothing supernatural about it. Once your brain activity stops, so does your consciousness. The atoms that make up you will continue to exist forever, like they existed before you were born, but the (you) reading this comment will be gone.

Because humans are aware of their mortality and our easily shattered perceptions of reality are defined by what we can interact with, in this material world. We are guaranteed death by observing it happens. We cannot guarantee life after. Anyone who says this is a liar or an ego poster seeking attention and is not intuitive to know that.

Awesome! Thanks, man, I haven't read that before!

based leaf

this is insanity.

I could die any momment and I would be fine with it. I know what this life is and how it works. I know the truth.
Lord Jesus is the Truth the way and the life. no one goes to the father without him.
the truth will set you free.
he is your savior or he is not. simple as that

Mmm the sweet release of death

>We cannot guarantee life after

that is where you are so wrong

Ignore the presumption that we were ever alive prior to being born into our current lives. This will unravel once you get it.

No I'm not

Yeah this is pretty much what I've been thinking.

proof? your nobel prize awaits

Both this, and this:

knowyourmeme.com/memes/will-you-fight-or-will-you-perish-like-a-dog

...

even in the face of the Lord himself.
some will not turn from unbelief to belief.
that's why even after the unbelievers die Satan will be loosed and will deceive everyone who was a unbeliever in death to attack the city of the Lord and take it by force. proving that even knowing the end people still give into sin who dont have Jesus. but its all a fairy tail to you so why would it matter right?

>I could die any momment and I would be fine with it. I know what this life is and how it works. I know the truth.

There are billions of people on this planet just as convinced of beliefs that differ from your own. Some have even stronger faith.

If you can sit there and tell me that you know the truth, you either think you're special, or you're a liar. Your feelings are not knowledge, m80

Because there is a gazilion things your matter and energy could turn to. What makes you think it will be another life form? Of course if you added infinite time into the equation it could be possible.

I'm content with the eventuality of death as long as I leave something behind that I'll be remembered for. Become an important figure in the books of history, if only just in my country. So that the people in the future know that I wasn't just one more human in the flock. That's enough.

I am special because I know Jesus Christ.
I am happy to know that I have my life worry free that the Lord can take away my worries and problems when I ask and call on him.
his people are all special

That's what the first part of the image is for. It takes the presumption that we were ever not alive before this life and unravels it.
