Am I an NPC if I can't imagine 5 and 6?
I can still pass the monologue test and hear any sound I want in my mind.
Is having BOTH auditory AND visual memory necessary?
ALRIGHT POL

I can't do any of these, what does that mean for me?
Wait, are you supposed to ACTUALLY see something like if your eyes were open?
I can imagine a red star and I know what it would look like but I can't SEE one.
slide thread google exposed
6
me too
I can see stuff like in ops pic put this only happens when im in bed for a while, meditating
Then i see stuff like i would see in reallife, but i cant really control it
true, me neither
STOP WITH THE NIGGER SHIT! ALL I READ IS NIGGER NIGGER FAGGOT NIGGER!! JUST QUIT!!!
I see a bright green star, what does that mean? I'm trying to make it red but that's not working.
it is also six pointed.
This bullshit just trying to freak you out, everybody is a # 1 all the time when you close your eyes.
Dreams are the only time you get ocular sensations of non-existent objects.
good mutt
I can see things most of the time but it's like just barely there, it's not like you're seeing a full blown picture, like a dream. It's more of a fuzzy envisionment.
dont you need to not show the picture first? its easy to imagine any of them that i want to after seeing them
Is anyone actually good at imagining on command? Like the best way I imagined this is as an insignia on Soviet Airplanes. Which is interesting because I have no issue imagining airplanes like Sturmoviks including small details and background, but I have trouble thinking about a red star without anything else to the scenery.
This is a joke, right?
You're making those trendy maymays right now and having a laugh at my expense, aren't you.
Nah never really have any issues. Sometimes there's more detail than other times but nah, if I try to imagine something specific. I almost always can
Yes, one time I imagined I was Hillary Duff and the entire world wanted to be my friend. I got to run the whole school and basically get to be the queen, and even got to fly around the school with the justice league. Then I woke up
No, this is like the final redpill for unlocking your consciousness' potential.
The joke is that you CAN'T see the star in your imagination, like the "I don't have an internal voice" bullshit.
You're mentally fucking deficient if you don't have an internal monologue or the ability to visualise your imagination.
That's what I'm asking.
Do I need BOTH or is having just one enough? Can you do both types equally well?
thrill yourself in minecraft
Are you serious?
You're a retard. Delete this shit thread.
You should be able to do both. Have you never daydreamed your entire life?
I can change the color, add more stars, change the shape, etc. In bed as a kid I would get frustrated at my images because something wasn't right and I'd have to start all over and I'd be up all night. I'm good at "seeing" my mental images.
You guys are actually retarded
I can imagine star 4 and I can 'walk' around my town, but it's blurry and not very vivid.
I cant picture a star, but I can picture other things like trees. What does this mean?
>represents what did you see
written by a nigger, into the trash it goes
Everyone is. It's a joke. The human brain is an image processing and pattern recognition device, built from the ground up to "see" things both internal and external.
If you genuinely and legitimately couldn't imagine (IMAGE is in the fucking name, if you wanted a clue) a scene and actually see it as well as not having an internal monologue, then how would you even function on a day to day basis?
You poor schlomm. Never imagined yourself storming Jerusalem on a siege tower and slaughtering everything that moves? Damn you missed out. Can you even recall movie scenes?
I can imagine basically anything, even something like glass breaking of water splashing in real time, but it's not like i actually see it, if I had to put a location to it, in would be like an inch below my forehead.
I can visualise perfectly fine, it just doesnt look the same as when I look with my eyes. It's more like a matrix or numbers representing images
it says mind's eye, not in the blackness of your eyelids
You fucking idiots need to read more.
A hard one to do is to shift your minds eye perspective as if was 180 degrees in front of your physical self and "look" at yourself.
reminder that the NPC meme was created for people without internal monologue, and if you don't see at least a 4 you are a low IQ individual
No it’s not. Fuck
It's a different layer that runs parallel to your normal image processing. True multitasking.
You're a retarded monkey
More like if you "see" anything past 2 youre schizo
So in those movies where someone says, 'now picture a stream in the forest' you would be off banging your head against a wall because you just saw black?
Good to know subhumans are a fact.
Do you have experience with astral projection and out of body experiences?
you can see things in certain states of mind, hypnagogic hallucination is where is at, unlocking that is unlocking genius-tier visualization. Its not coincidence most extreme genius minds of history are obsessed with dreaming and sleep patterns
You aren't supposed to be seeing it with your eyes, you are supposed to see it in your mind. If you can't do this incredibly simple task then you are the absolutely the biggest brainlet.
I can literally manifest this object IRL in front of me for about a second.
Fuck, I can only remember 10-15 seconds max from memorable points in a movie.
Can you hear entire songs in your head?
I don't understand this. Can you not picture it in your minds eye? It's not telling you to literally hallucinate something, it's just saying you should be able to picture a red star.
Maybe I'm retarded but what am I supposed to see? Imagine a red star then pick a random number?
what the fuck even do you people even mean by the mind's eye
I can visualize anything i want even with my eyes open. Its kindve trippy when i close my eyes at night and forget they are closed and i still see everything in my room.
I picture whole medieval battles in my head, and criticize the architecture i see in documentaries, and movies. M&B map editor was like crack to me.
Don't worry about it. Your kind evolved tails instead of mental eyes. You're special in your own way.
Fucking try to imagine anything, like a field of flowers if you can see the field of flowers properly in your mind then you're good.
I'm currently imagining my design of ductwork in my new house and figuring out the layout issues. I've never done ducts before, but its not that hard to envision 3d space.
I consider nearly everyone I know to be a slobbering idiot so maybe I'm just more evolved. Of course, you autist manage to out-smart me on a daily basis... so what do I know
Being able to dissociate i think has a lot to do with being able to imagine rich landscapes, precise objects, etc. in your head. I had a near death experience when I was a kid and I never internalized it so I resorted to imagining entire sagas/wars/books in my head. I could even recreate movies with my eyes closed. It has nothing to do with being more/less intelligent, rather it's a skill that some people have/work on more than others.
Can you imagine a song? Ever had a song stuck in your head? I'd relate that to being the 'mind's ear'. You're not literally hearing it, but you "hear" it. In the same sense, I can imagine an image, with or without my eyes closed. It's certainly easier with the eyes closed as you just have a black blank canvas. It's not literal, it's both there and not, I can see it in my mind, but not with my eyes. If it sounds strange, sorry, it's like trying to explain how to flex a muscle or breathe, you just do it, I can't explain the process since there isn't one.
Think about a big rubber duck.
It has a lot of small rubber duck children following it.
Now, did you ever see this duck before?
No? Good, it doesn't exist.
So how do you know what it looks like? That's your imagination, you used your "mind's eye" to create the image in your mind. Or not, if you weren't able to think visually about how it looked.
Here is a shortcut for anybody who has trouble with this, instead of just trying to just visualize the star alone in your head try to remember somewhere you know really well, like the inside of your house or your old childhood neighborhood. Now visualize yourself in a place like that but simply imagine that there a red star somewhere in that scene. If done properly you are essentially outsourcing your brain's more developed memory centers to work in place of the less used centers of the brain that you use for visualization.
Question: can you visualize something from nothing? I think I can only visualize something that I have already seen, but then is it only a memory?
I tired but I could only imagine assholes of Pueblo indians.
Dang. You NPC folks really are real.
Fuck... I read duck as "dick". Now I'm seeing a big white rubber cock leading some smaller yellow ones around.
You guys are below me. If you cant masturbate with your imagination then you're an npc
It's got to be a left brain right brain thing. The people I know who are better at visualising are more artsy and airy and less mathematically minded and
holy shit bros now i can't make it go away
wat do?
heh, the image that appeared wasn't listed one of the six listed. the phrase "red star" conjured the attached image in my mind.
I think it's impossible to form "original" thoughts like that, visual or otherwise. Everything is derived from something, especially the physical. Even if I were to tell you to imagine a shape with a particular texture, it would likely be an amalgamation of things you've already seen combined to create the desired form. They say we can't form original faces, and any face in a dream is one you've already seen, even if briefly.
I just tried this and it works. I'm now seeing hundreds of red stars in my childhood memories.
How can I make my more recent memories strong enough to be able to do the same with them?
I was unable to fix a red star in my mind to imagine it for this test. The moment I tried to imagine the soviet tail flash on an airplane, I could 'see' the red star vividly and hold it in my mind.
I don't think in color, I don't dream in color. Never did.
And yet I know what meta-cognition is and use it every day.
This is a shit test. For people like me that are slightly color blind it tests nothing.
Also I'm guessing women do better on this test, because women have a better color imagination.
Also sage, it's a slide thread.
im serious, i know some people can "hold" to sounds, and i can "see" structures, but i can't see stuff, i can imagine it abstractly, and i don't have to close my eyes for that
i don't know if its that, i have a friend who is a musician i sometimes produced shit with him, and he would say play X frequency, and "latch" to it, and he was able to play the whole section of the song and abstract all other sounds while "looking" for the frequency that he had just heard in order to clean it with an EQ.
I can "imagine" music, but not in that way, its like i don't really hear the sounds, just imagine the ups and downs and the rhythm, same as with images, i can "see" a rubber duck, but not really, i just have figure this abstract definition of it. I can "imagine" a forest for example, and described it to you fully, but i couldn't began to draw it or paint it
I've always found images in my mind to be stronger and more vivid when I don't want them there
>being so autistic you can't imagine a fucking red star
>also being a fag
jesus christ kill yourself
I think that the way that the mind works is that literally everything you imagine comes from a reference point you've retained from something you've seen in the past. So when you were horny as a kid and didn't have mags/computers and imagined a girl with all the features you liked, that woman was actually built from all the women you've ever come into contact with and remembered in your life. Thats probably why it's easier to fall in love with uglier chicks when you're younger as well
Never gonna give you up never gonna let you down
You are a philosophical zombie.
You have no soul
OH GOD!!! I SEE A JEW STAR EVERY TIME I CLOSE MY EYES NOW!!!!!!!!!!
a red star just flew over my house
>Fag flag
>Memories of the red star
Checks out
No you can't hallucinate through pure will alone you fucking retard.
Well if we can agree that this conversation is something separate from just seeing stuff in your head...
Usually the place I go to in my head when I meditate is a beach. There’s a bad lightning storm out in the water, i can hear stuff, smell stuff, feel things, but it’s actively created. I start with one thing at a time like the sound of the waves but eventually it because a mechanism like breathing meaning I think about it, create the place, and then for usually 10 minutes, I’m just there without having to actively maintain it. There’s usually an underground room. Straight through the entrance is a small antechamber, and beyond that through a passage way is infinite white. I thought about putting things there once (like information in the form of something “physical” to see if it would still be there but haven’t done it. Sometimes random things pop up on the “island”, once there was a raven floating on a buoy out in the water and once there was a wolf (things I didn’t create). Shit like that.
As far as outer body experience, I’ve had some intense dreams like that.
OK, seriously, please PLEASE tell me you guys are trolling me, can you guys ACTUALLY NOT IMAGINE A RED FUCKING STAR
GOD DAMMIT THIS BETTER BE LIKE THAT BS INTERNAL MONOLOGUE THING Jow Forums
This isn’t schizo shit. Anyone can do this.
I cant imagine anything closing my eyes, I can only imagine shapes with my eyes open when thinking.
im the uberetard
>i just have figure this abstract definition of it. I can "imagine" a forest for example, and described it to you fully, but i couldn't began to draw it or paint it
Ok but is it more like an image of a forest or a written description of what a forest is supposed to be when you imagine it
Oh I agree that's it's not very clear. Being able to take something from inside your mind and take it into the real world is often extremely difficult. Often I can hear a song, but I can't remember all the lyrics. But I think I can probably imagine things a lot better than you can, I can picture and hear details very easily, I don't have a photographic memory by any stretch, but the way I often remember how to get somewhere around town is to "drive" down the road in my mind, I can picture the entire trip, with associated signs, buildings, etc.
That wasn't bs either man, I don't mean them any ill will, but brown people are fucking retarded, they're a completely different species from us, and way less developed cognitively.
Non-ironically I could get number 5 on the second try.
You're a subhuman if you have aphantasia or a lack of internal monologue.
>calling someone else a retard for doing something that everyone has the ability to do.
Yes you can in-fact visualize full detailed scenarios with your eyes open.
I'm currently reading my own typed words while visualizing my attic.
It's so vivid I can almost smell it and feel the humidity.
If you can't do this, you're probably low IQ.
You might want to look at the Freemasons 'laying on hands' initiation, then do it. Then you'll all be able to work your way to full visuals, if you'd like
im a true skizzo, I can imagine stuff in real time. no need to meditate or something
6 but then it turns to a red blob
now i cant stop thinking about the red blob and when I close my eyes the red blob is there and sometimes it gets jiggly and turns into that windows 95 screen saver
its an abstract notion of a forest, i might get different parts of forests getting triggered by my memory of forests, maybe sounds or smell or certain images, then associated stuff, and i start forming this broader notion of "forestness"
I can get a red, blurry, partial star... but it's not a full star so I guess 6? It's a bit darker than the one pictured.
>he can't see a bright red star in his minds eye with both eyes open
You aren't going to make it.
I see a red star on a field of white.
I refuse to believe anyone got anything other than 6.
Its not easy, but its doable. If you're out of practice and you try to force some color into it, your brain will start throwing associated stuff at you. For example its easy for me to imagine a red star, but if I hold it for a sec in my minds eye it'll stylize in some way, either with a yellow outline, lines along its apical radii, or things like that. Visualizing one, static thing takes some practice, though once you're used to it, which some people are from an early age, its trivial.
