I knew this 3rd generation, pale mexican girl in college, she said she did a writing prompt to enter a competition for a grant some hispanic heritage bullshit that would give tuition money to the top prompts, I forget how many would be given the money. The prompt was to be their experience being hispanic in America. The girl wrote how she loved America and how her entire school career she never felt otherized or ostracized for being hispanic and all these other great things.
