Bankers and Billions on the collapse of civilization

>they are actively preparing for it by buying land in New Zealand and Alaska and building and stocking underground bunkers
>they are afraid of losing their wealth/power/status post collapse since it is just "on paper"
>they are thinking about some controlling their private military goons through: shock collars, locking up all the food in vaults that only they can control, and autonomous killer drones/robots that only they can control

What do you guys make of this? I think it highly unlikely that these wankers would survive post-collapse. At most they can lock themselves up in a bunker until they die of hunger/old age. But I don't see them retaining their status/power/wealth.

Very likely that post-collapse will look like war throne Syria or Libya, lost of ex-government, ex-military, ex-police lead war bands fighting for control of land and resources. I don't see any reason why some goon would stick with these wankers when he can work for a warlord.

Also gold is overrated. Gold still requires some kind of existing civilization somewhere. Otherwise you cannot really do much with it.

Historically, drought, famine and natural disasters have all been causes of collapse.
"Climate change" is just a sequence of such bad luck in increasing frequency.
