What do you "see" in your head if you're asked to visualise something, like a sunset or whatever?

What do you "see" in your head if you're asked to visualise something, like a sunset or whatever?
I can't really see things in my head.
If someone told me to visualise a sunset, I would have to try to use my memory and think about what a sunset would look like.
I don't "see" the sunset, I just know what it's supposed to look like.
Kinda like a bat using echolocation. It can't see things, but it knows the shape and distance of things.

Do you guys picture stuff like VR or what?

I can imagine anything including perspectives I cannot see because I have a male brain. Conjuring images is part of visuospacial processing

fuck off npc scum, if you don't have phantasia you don't belong here
>proceeds to picture op sucking dick in my head in photorealistic detail

I have an extremely vivid and hyperreal vision of a tawny neon sun with a great crescentic halo illuminating a wide shallow valley with soft orange light. That's what involuntarily came to mind. The sun in this vision is absolutely enormous, occupying perhaps 15% of the entire horizon.

I also have a sense of where I am as the "observer" in this scene, on an outside patio of some type of hilltop villa.

Try lsd, should make you fully capable.

>What do you "see" in your head if you're asked to visualise something, like a sunset or whatever?
Well in normal awake mode, i can recall a memory and kinda see it, like it isn't crystal clear but its there
if i look at a blank surface i can visualize it on that easier than just in my head
at the same time i've noticed if i lay down, during sleepy time, i can try to visualize things and see them almost crystal clear, at least for a short time
i think it is rather rare for people, especially men, to see things crystal clear in their minds eye, and people who can visualize on a blank area are people who can draw well, because they are simply tracing what they are visualizing on the blank area

If you can "see" things in your head or hear an inner voice, then you might need medication.

everyone has an inner voice, you think in your default language, and its pretty normal to have two voices, one to argue each side of things to try to make the best choice
this is where the cartoon good and evil things on each shoulder comes from when a character is deciding something
it can get out of control though, the contrary voice can become a persona, which from there becomes an entire split personality
even then though, it isn't a terrible situation, unless your split is telling or demanding you do bad irrational things
this whole voice in your head thing is probably where early religion springs up from
you also have to wonder what language a human "thinks" in before the language part of their brain has learned a language. As well as what do blind people from birth see in their heads when they visualize things
meh

I've done art all my life, I can see very vivid images in my mind's eye, but I don;t actually see them irl I just know what they look like in detail and can imagine where the color blocks and shapes on an object are in perpsective to each other, and as an animator I can very eaily imagine animated visuals, movement and stuff, when I close my eyes and do this there is a very slight conjuration out of the green/pink mind pixel haze that sworls around of the image I am thinking of, sometimes it takes longer to conjure up this image.

If I am on psychedelics obviously this is actually visual at a point. I used to get this on marijuana the very first few times I smoked way too much, but it hasn't really happened since then in the 8 year's I've been on and off smoking, only if I am very very high I will get slightly more vivid images than described in the first paragraph.

Neither of these are like dreams, which I will mistake for my real life sometimes, even though things are vastly wild and different than how irl works or usually is (my parents house being an entirely different configuration, my family being ok with me flying around, etc)

>long rambling word vomit
Not helping your case.

speaking of drawing/animating, how did you learn to do that, could you just draw since you were a child, or was it learned? i've always assumed people learned first from tracing, then simply looking at an image on a screen and copying it down, and finally drawing what they see on the blank canvas or what they see in their heads
but ive tried and have zero drawing ability
really sucks

No they don't newfag. They're called NPCs. It's real and studied.

NPVs can't visualize images.

I understand a rare illness causes it apparently
however I do not think it is widespread
to me the NPC meme means more like, many humans are lower to average IQ. That makes them easily programmed, thus they are NPCs.
If you've ever talked to a low IQ person or programmed person, you'll see they only partially comprehend the information, they have this glazed stare. If asked to repeat what you said, they will with about 50% accuracy. Basically NPCs are programmed deeply and do not care about details, they have trouble processing information from a higher IQ person.
Jow Forums and Jow Forums is riddled with outcasts because the general society has no place for them, because they are higher IQ, and the average IQ society rejects them. The higher IQ Jow Forums user cannot integrate or accept their programming.

Is it normal to 'ask' myself things?
Like for me to go "Should I go for a walk today?" and then get the answer "Yes" or "No" or "It's up to you."

Yeah, a higher IQ person will judge both sides of something
a programmed person just goes with whatever they think, they have no "check" using a second contrary voice
That being said, never do anything until you're 100% certain, until you've viewed it from both sides, both voices. Checked most or all of the pros and cons, the facts, etc. Otherwise enjoy bad decisions.

it doesn't mean that you're an NPC. It means probably that you lack Extroverted Sensing (Se) according to the MBTI. Those with Se highest in their function stacks have the best visual imagination.

What comes to mind when I ask you to describe a chair?

I see vivid images of perfectly shaped large breasts because sunsets are gay and I prefer big bouncy boobies.

What color is the sun?
What shape is it?
What color is the sky?

CAN YOU SEE IT? CAN YOU FUCKING SEE IT NOW???!!

i dieded. time to respawn

You have "overthinkitis". Smoke a doob twice per day. Stop touching yourself. It will clear up.

A pretty girl with a slim waist and big round ass wearing a gstring squatting up and down over my face being a real cock tease.

Good, just checking.

its weird, I can kinda see it for a couple of moments when I focus, then it goes away, but i still know what it's supposed to look like.

That's funny you mention tracing, I'll give a quick rundown:

>great grandma and grandma were oil painters
>mom was also and is hobbyist artist, does abstract graphic paintings and designs from a textiles background
>I don't remember a time before drawing
>I remember an early method I used to draw cartoon characters right was to tape up their picture from a coloring book on a window, then tape a piece of paper up to it, then trace it
>I did this enough times that I learned how to draw different characters from different shows on my own with ease
>around that same time started drawing aliens, dinosaurs, and creatures/made up animals for fun from watching nature documentaries and sci fi movies
>so on and so forth

When I want to draw something I imagine it in my head trying out different configurations of scenery and colors/lighting, poses, composition basically, or if I am imagining an animated sequence/shot, I'll keep running it through my head until I get the timing just right

It's all a matter of practice. I can't play music and I am functionally retarded at athletic sports, though I am trying to get better at both.

God speed user, go to /ic/ and learn the basics, >just draw and don't listen to the crabs.

I'm learning how to not use outlines.

Try going outside sometime. It will help.

"Archetype"

Has anyone else learned to visualize in 4D? 5D? I'm getting there, been practicing for 3 years.

Aren't the shadows on those steps in contradiction with the shadow of the body?

When I close my eyes and think of something really hard, I don't quite see images, but I feel them.
It's kinda like with how you can see your dreams, but more blurry and vague for me.

Latest best "action cartoon linework" piece, made for a friend

Attached: fly.png (1000x1000, 759K)

Lol yeah, I'm sure all of the lighting is wrong, the shadow is also totally impossible unless there was a huge chunk out of the side of the planet she was on, the sun is shining from below the horizon line. Or maybe it's a small moon, idk. Earth sized planet though, completely wrong lighting. among the rest of it. Learning pretty much all of the fundamentals after just really doing linework for my entire life can be a reaaal suckerpunch sometimes.
