Gonna bump with a semi on topic question. I went and bought my wife a new iPhone today (I know apple sucks) and I was maybe going to get myself a new android, but they are all loaded down with everything Google. There are custom roms ( still android but altered) and custom OS ( Ubuntu touch or tezian os) but they are not standard yet. There is a project called halium, to make this kind of things run on every device, but for now you have to check if your device is supported. I'm still researching if disabling every Google service and installing a different app store will suffice, because android is open source, you can see the code, and what is sent to the goolag, but their services aren't. Hopefully it's the services, because you can disable them. Other than this, you have Kai OS, but they had a big investment from alphabet, may be compromised. No easy way out. But it's happening. PCs were once like this if I remember.

Remember you can still disable their services and install an app store. As well as using alternatives to their services, like bitchute or new pipe (accesses YouTube but protects you, supposedly). Wanna screw up Google? Try to find an extension called ad nauseam, and laugh at how ingenious it is. Cannot vouche for its safety though. Also, on your phone, you can install browsers like brave and duckduckgo.
