There was a really interesting article posted on Jow Forums about the reasons for Africa's lack of development, and the author brought up how the majority of Africans only "live in the now" and have no concept of the future, and this was reflected even in their languages, a lot of them lacking a future tense entirely. I think it's a similar case with other "less developed cultures"

this is going to be difficult for Northern Europeans to understand, but there is no sense of shame whatsoever in African, Latin American, or middle eastern cultures. Despite being dirt poor, borderline retarded, illiterate, and completely unproductive, they have an incredible sense of entitlement. They don’t think about where the money comes from, all they know is they want it in their pocket. This can be seen in their voting patterns and their willingness to game the welfare system for their own benefit.
