When the fuck does a cop review their own body cam footage, I was under the impression whoever attorney that will press charger against the suspect will the see the footage first and foremost, and maybe the cop can see it when a trial takes place.

To be honest, the whole “dumb cop” thing is kind of a meme. A lot of departments require an Associates or Bachelors. I work with some cops who have their Masters. Yes, I’m serious. I grew up in the suburbs of minneapolis and one time I visited a friends home town he grew up in out in the country before he moved to the burbs and my god was that wild. I don't think they had to deal with the minorities lowering the standard thing but that was the craziest night of my life. Drinking and smoking weed at a cops house. Pretty sure he was tasering and pepper spraying his cop friends in his back yard. Probably others too. I only have vague memories of that part of the night. The one thing I remember is my buddies friend around the same age, so 15 or 16 driving us home, from the cops house. He was intentionally driving over medians and just driving like a mad man. The guy was also like state runner up wrestler or something at the time. Craziest night of my life. It was awesome. He got us home safe and sound though. Although I do remember there was some pancakes with syrup messed into the carpet which pissed off whoevers house that was when we all woke up.

Our body cams have to be activated by us. It’s not constantly recording. Damn near every time I get out of my car, I activate it. You really have no idea what you’re talking about. There are multiple Cops who post on this board regularly(especially from my department).

Why leaf? almost all investigators and detectives digitally record their contacts and write their reports based on those recordings.Street cops should be able to do the same thing.
