The NRA supports the Hughes amendment and that’s because the leaders and top supporters own some very valuable pre 1986 automatics that are only valuable because of the ban. If the Hughes amendment was lifted today, machineguns would slowly become less expensive as more new ones are pushed into the market. The NRA uses idiots money to suppress gun rights for the benefit of the owners investments.

I’m not anti-gun rights in the sense of “let’s get rid of fully auto, semi auto, bump stocks etc.” I’m lucky to live in a state with open carry laws and we aren’t required to have a license to carry a firearm which I fully support. I believe “good guys with a gun stop bad guys with a gun” is 100% true. My parents went to go eat at a restaurant that had some crazy guy open fire in and he was stopped by a couple guys who had their guns with them. I just don’t agree with everything the NRA does anymore
