This is a little misguided, but mostly true. First of all, that's how it's always been. If you aren't able to employ yourself (which is still doable these days) then you have to work for someone else and obviously you are going to feel like a slave because you have no control over your pay or how much you work in most cases. This doesn't mean that your employer is treating you unfairly, it just means that you are a resource to be exploited like any other. If there was only one of you it'd be different, but there are thousands, so why shouldn't the boss do what is best for the business? The main problem we have is that we've all been enslaved by the international banking cartels. They take half of our income just to pay off the massive debt that we as a nation owe. This is all by design, the debt is meant to keep going up, it will never go down. They don't care about illegal immigration because all that means is more slaves to pay the banks.

Hey, I saw that documentary on YT. It was pretty good. As to your question about why we are supposedly checking out of society, I would suppose that it is a matter of mainstream society pushing us out after we allowed them in.
I'll give one example: Table Top Gaming Culture(I.E. GamesWorkshop IPs, Protos games AvP wargame and FFGs X-Wing mini game). Up until we started letting them into our circles it was all good. Maybe the rules for every game went perfect; but we made do, amending things with house rules as we saw fit. We always welcomed new players; because let's be honest, we are fucking nerds who are always happy to make new frens and share our culture. Then the SJWs happened and every forum, FB group, Redd*t group, ect... became filled with these people screaming over each other about balance issues, spam, broken mechanics, cheese, ect... To which the devs responded with hastily created patches that ended up doing more harm than good(I.E the Titan nerfs in 40k). I watched three separate communities die at my local hobby shop before the shop itself finally went under from declining sales due to loss of faith in the devs for caving to every little bitchy complaint. I still play games with my frens from those circles; but no longer on the grand 8x4 tables adorned with luxurious terrain that the shop had. These people destroyed my culture from within and it broke my heart and will to engage with them in any context other than belligerence.
