Should we institute a national fitness program alongside Medicare for All?
Should we institute a national fitness program alongside Medicare for All?
Literally all of your issues are irrelevant until you solve your demographic issue.
This is exactly why we opposed Obamacare so hard. It gives the state defacto ownership of you. If it wants to pass mandatory fitness laws, it's well within its right on the grounds of cost savings.
No, because that would be racist.
Just tax the shit out of fat people.
duh
I wanna start stronglifts but I have some mild scoliosis in my lower back, worsened by nerd posture. I've heard squatting can strengthen the spine and even correct this to some extent but also might injure you terribly? Am I gonna fucking kill myself?
>>>//Jow Forums//
Obviously.
Alternatively, Japan forces you to pay a tax if you're over a certain BMI. Could be another way.
People shoild be forced to work out.
That will never happen but we can subsidize gyms and introduce a national hour of exercise every three days.
obesity causes more cancer than anything else now. We are starting to see posters like this appear everywhere
Completely irrelevant to the topic but I bought that bench on amazon for something like £50 and I can confirm it's excellent quality for the price. Good and sturdy despite it being a foldable. So yeah, protip - get that shit niggers
Thanks a lot fella. Literally the one I've been looking to buy on amazon.
A genuinely fit guy told me that squats and deadlifts just give you back problems and to avoid them. Funnily enough a long distance runner told me to do short runs for health and long distance just destroys your legs.
Iv also heard that if you have any back problems you should absolutely avoid lifts that transfer weight through your back and use machines instead.
There is a whole program of weights and exercises to fix back problems and poor posture that you would have to under go before you even begin real strength training.
>Should we institute a national fitness program
Yes
>alongside Medicare for All?
No
Don't do back squats they are no good for posture especially if it's bad in the first place. Front squats are much better for posture as you're forced to stand straight to keep the bar on you.
Makes sense. Enjoy mate.
At the very least P.E. should be reformed for public schools to make everyone more exercise/health conscious than they try to be.
>A genuinely fit guy told me that squats and deadlifts just give you back problems and to avoid them
He's a fucking retard then and you shouldn't listen to him.
Male beauty standards have changed significantly since 20 years ago. teenagers and 30 year olds are usually all running, lifting and don't have beer guts here. You have to work out to compete.
I am pretty tall. I have back pain. He said deadlifts and squats will make it worse without PERFECT posture and no one is doing these lifts right.
A national hour of exercise. The gym would be packed beyond usefulness
Are these beds creaky/loud? I'm not even fat but I want to get ripped a little bit, though I live in a small apartment so noise is a big issue, there's a lot of echo in the building and the neighbors are a pain to deal with.
By the way, there is a cool sticky on right now:
i'm very asymmetric and squats/DL would not have hurt me, if i maintained careful form. i agree with ideas about foundational exercise for poor posture. a lot of people are taught very little
>defacto state ownership
when electricity gets expensive, lower the cost of electricity at gyms. no one should really give a fuck what you do, so long as your not degenerate
I also assume that other things that people do in their regular lives is greatly adding to stress on the body. Going to the gym hurt my shoulders but it was removing poor posture at a desk that fixed it rather than removing weight lifting.
Also a bit of yoga for the back never hurts.
No. That would be ableist
it's all about proper form. there is a correct way to do the lifts that will strengthen your back. rippetoe knows what he's talking about. find a gym that stresses form - they are out there and happily advertise as such. let your trainer know about any back problems so they can build those areas up while avoiding unnecessary and counterproductive early stresses
I'm jerking off to this, thanks user
Yes you burgers should seriously do that.
It's more that recently there's been cuts to physical education and with the body positivity garbage adults think their kids can be healthy when they're morbidly obese. It's one thing for kids to have physical disabilities and another to let them be lazy pieces of shit.
>not doing your face pulls
Really we just need to make it financially impossible to be fat.
I would unironically support public transportation and auto insurance charging people based on weight.
>should we end the welfare state and mind our own fucking business?
You read my mind OP
You will be fine, work with a weight that you can easily manage until your posture improves. Focus on clean movements and corrective stretches, after your posture improves you can work to increase the weight you are moving.
Go to Jow Forums and read the sticky user.
>literal state propaganda animated by the most talented studio in the country
amazing. japan is amazing
>tfw
Jeff, i did my facepulls today... only 2 sets though
Do what Japan does and tax people based on how fat they are. Of course, you have to address the issues behind this as well. Things like having more athletic options in schools, subsidizing healthier food options instead of just corn, even adding social credits for staying in shape would all greatly benefit this.
Kek is here, boys. Let the muscles grow.
remember when pic related used to be a norm in every country
Sauce?
Shortly followed by them being shipped off to die.
Only problem with charging by the pound is what about fit/swole bros? Unless some sort of system is put in place to separate the 5 foot 5 300lb slobs from the 6 foot 2 and 250lbs stacked Chads, it won't be fair to the people who aren't worthless. Also, who decides the weight limit? The pozzed government would just say "healthy at any weight ^_^" or set it absurdly high like 700 lbs.
I'd just have doctors measure body fat percentage.
Chinese have gym every morning before school starts.
I don't know many fat chinese people and never saw an obese one.
Except that's racist because minorities are more obese than whites
Also the poorest aka will never produce a net gain in taxes are the fattest
>If it wants to pass mandatory fitness laws, it's well within its right on the grounds of cost savings.
Noooooo
Again, who sets the allowable percent?
Took me a minute to figure out whether that was supposed to be educational, or erotic.
Just put in a manditory military service for every man & woman. While the woman wont need to prepare for battle they get trained in support tasks and policing. So everyone would be required to improve their fitness. Usually those people dont get fat till their 30's
Israels military service would be a good example for this, because even women are drafted
Me
20% max for me
25% max for women
Also allowing children to get fat will be considered child abuse.
Who fucking cares
Charging by the pound is most logical since more weight = more gas usage. Besides, it's a self-completing system since the people who are super swole are almost always capable of affording a few extra bucks due to their ability to work, whereas the opposite is true with fatasses. When you perceive reality itself as numbers, you will rarely go wrong.
Yes, but only if we can segregate based on race. These free government gyms would be full of niggers.
That's not conducive to encouraging fitness though since money is really what gets the average person do what they do.
no biggot. its gonna be fat shaming and able body shaming. literal hitner nazi faggot
>Americans don't have a national fitness program
>they don't know about the flexed arm hang
The upper class lifting elite shall be established.
Those who don't lift will be taxed to fuck and shunned.
Charge by bodyfat percentage. I don’t deserve to pay more because I lift and take care of myself.
t. guy who is 6’ 225 and has a few abs starting to show through.
