The only party that would dismantle supply management, resulting in 300-1000% food prices for meat, cheese, milk, eggs and bread, is the People's Party of Mad Max. But Trudeau has bought the media with a $600M bribe-- resulting in near total censure of Mad Max and only favourable coverage of Trudeau and the food doms.

1. Our dollar is worth around half an American dollar. When we pay $10 for a 5 pack of chicken breast, it works out to around $6 American.
2. Most of these pictures are Sobeys. Thats the equivalent of the average American shopping at trader joes for everything. Walmart and low end grocery retailers like food basics and no frills have prices 30% to 50% lower then premium grocery stores on typically everything.
3. The minimum wage in Canada's most populous province was just set at $15. Most provinces have a min of around $10. Employment laws also mean employers pay around an additional 50% of the wage directly to the government. The effective minimum wage in Ontario is 21$ an hour. Inflation and higher retail prices are a natural consequence of this.

The Canadian government operates under a different economic system. Unlike the US, Canada not only allows monopolies, but endorses them. This is decades old.
It was done first as a protective measure against cheap US imports. The truth is that most things in Canada have always been more expensive bc of tariffs and monopolies. This was usually either hidden or muffled. But now w/ global connectivity, it's getting impossible to keep the prices secret.
Any Canadian who comes on here to defend expensive milk, cheese, meat, and celery deserves all the ridicule he's heaped with. The monopoly system that caused this is broken. It needs to be reformed.
