Why don't the dutch use orange instead of boring blue/red/white that's already use by like everyone?

Because that would be more expensive.
Also because they're not ethnically dutch for much longer anyway. sideways france is a good flag for them
Because it's racist.

Your government unironically changed the colour because... it's racist?
They changed it because orange ink was more expensive than red ink.
I wish I was joking.
They should change it back
That would be expensive
Lmao poor ass faggots
The eternal waterjew.
Because having autism causes you to like orange and purple. Purple was too expensive so they settled for blue.
This and the same with our country
bc of this
Socialists ruin everything
Orange color gets associated with neo-nazis these days.
well they delayed the war in the east just long enough to save western europe from bolshevism moshe
superpower by 2020
what does this mean. I'm honestly considering just learning german at this point.
it's dutch but it goes like : who is the true dutchman?
This is so typical
Sadly this. Kankergroenlinks
Orange has a strong connection to the monarchy. It was changed in 16th century.
i mean 17th C.
Ahh thanks for the translation. Which do you think is more useful to learn Dutch or German? I'm 18 and I want to learn a second language while I''m young. I have ancestors in both places so they're on my list of choices. I've heard German is very good for improving English grammar so thats a plus in its favor.
German is more useful
Yeah but Dutch is more fun to speak.
Reasoning? Is it more widely spoken or are they more involved in trade or what?
Orange flag bad
>NL first language speakers: 20M
>German: 120M
>Spanish: 406M
I watched a intro video on both languages yesterday and they both sound somewhat similar at times like the way to say hello hallo but in other ways they sound weird as fuck. And I took a year of french and self studied some japanese before realizing thats pointless.
They should use the Jewish flag as to represent what they have always been
or just use the eu flag
I'm not learning Spanish. And no I don't even have a good reason. I just don't like the language. I refused to take courses on it in highschool and took french instead. I would rather become fluent in that or something equally as rare like italian then Spanish.
learn yiddish
Oh no dutch boy, the EU is rightfully french BVLL claim, you will wear it eventually as the rest of europe, but we are the ones owning it
Based
I honestly don't even know where thats spoken.
amsterdam
Sadly this is the NSB's fault
Oh fuck no I looked it up I would rather learn arabic at least that would be useful.
t.manu
Spanish is pretty easy and useful though. I get learning a language because you like it, but language is just a tool. Spanish isn't just Spanish anyway, different dialects are about as far apart as other couples of languages. Anyway, it barely took me any effort to pick up Mexican Spanish because like American English it's somewhat simplified and has looser acceptable grammar. If you know French and english, Spanish is no problem, and it's so widely spoken it's good for any multilingual to know.
mijn kanten
Dutch is very fun. It's all either really silly words or accented english.
also usefull in amsterdam
> Lives in country controlled by merchants
> Doesn't know what Yiddish is.
Oy very goy. You haven't even watched Seinfeld?
Did Dutch evolve out of German?
Maybe. I still don't like it though. Like I said I know I have no reason not to learn it.
Thats kinda what is seemed like in part.
Google says its a Jewish dialect used in pre war Germany?
Well I'm a Dutch speaker myself obviously and I speak German with a Dutch accent. Germans articulate greatly, too much (of course not everyone) and it costs energy.
Looool saved
No my parents didn't think tv was useful due to all the bad shit on it so I grew up without it. Heard of that show though.
That's right. Especially the swearing
It's more widely spoken. Dutch only gets spoken in the Netherlands (with a population of 17 million and not even everyone speaks Dutch) and in parts of Belgium, Germany and South Africa. Also there are more research papers written in German
No. German is in some ways (not all) a more evolved language.
>Google says its a Jewish dialect used in pre war Germany?
It is, but it's still used by (((the Jewish community)))
So you know Dutch English and German? Honestly it always amazes me that people in other country's speak so many languages compared to hear in small town US. But yah of course the native accent will come out.
No, just the relaxed mumbling but yes, swearing in German is awful.
Spanish sound like diarrhea
Yeah I took French even though it's only slightly more useful I didn't want to deal with the retard normies in my school
No it gets spoken in Suriname (lingua Franca) and the Antilles too.
Thats fair I suppose. I do want it to sere some practical use after all.
Yes but I've only met like two jews in my life maybe. How would that be useful to me. If I had to learn something like that I would learn hebrew so I could read scripture.
My German is not nearly on the level of the other two.
What it says?
And no, I speak German with a Dutch language because I like it better. That's not the case with English where I try to speak with an American accent.
Thats what I did lol. During my freshman year all the years suddenly were told they had to learn a language either french or Spanish. Probably 90 percent of the school took Spanish while the other 10 chose french so of course I took French to get away from the big crammed room full of people.
Fuck those niggers
Maar schelden met tering, tyfus en kanker geeft het beste gevoel dat er is
You'll probably understand Dutch a bit better too if you understand German
>How would that be useful to me.
It isn't
People are always like, "wow, you guys in the U.S. only know one language?"
Europe is small, and has loads of different cultures and even more languages. You can drive for a few hours and hear multiple different languages being spoken in their native land. We are the size of Europe and have two neighbors, and one of those two also speaks English, while the other is poor and we hate them. That's our exposure to other languages.
Thats fair. And still impressive to me. My parents both know a little of a second language(dad knows a little German from highschool and mom knows a African dialect from missionary work) But neither of them actually can speak the languages with any fluency.
>My son only gets to PlayStation after homework
>(Fatima): that's good! Bla..
>Butt out, turk
>swearing in German is awful.
Was zum Teufel willst du fauliger Schmierlappen damit sagen? Verfluchte Kackscheisse! Jetzt reicht's! Gottverdammt nochmal! So ein Dreck!
Maybe I'll learn both eventually who knows. But I can only really learn one at a time.
Yah thats what I thought.
Well I can speak it in full sentences, but make mistakes with the cases. I don't care though. We dropped those in Dutch ages ago.
>Was zum Teufel
Translate that in English. Only some posh faggot would say that.
you're damn right.
STOP APPROPRIATING MY FLAG YOU KANKER PIRATES!
Die kankermoffen kunnen helemaal niet schelden joh kankerdebiel
kek
Yah I know. And English is the business language of the world so while its pushed in other country's we dont have any thing that compares in need to be pushed. And honestly I think its a shame. Theres lots of good reasons to know multiple languages.
>luxembourg
>literally being the retarded part of the most retarded province we have
It's because of the costs of making coloured flags. We're so cheap we would have made our flag entirely white but the french thought of it first.
>Well I'm a Dutch speaker myself obviously and I speak German with a Dutch accent.
what's the verschil?
>Theres lots of good reasons to know multiple languages.
No. Maybe for your brain. I cringe at those international school children who get to learn Chinese. My fucking ass. Chinks will learn English eventually, the sooner the better (stupid lessons like that only slow down that process).
>Translate that in English. Only some posh faggot would say that.
It's like "what the hell?"
It's very big unfortunately. It's virtually impossible for non Dutch people to ever be able to.
Okay, okay, i'll checkem
No, it's 'what the devil', which is posh rubbish.
why don't you google basic questions like this fucking retard
Yah thats more then I can do with any language but English so.
Your brain yes. Also working with people from other countrys. Yes many may know English but if you're hoping to do business being able to impress them will help. America is not the center of the world. Also just travel or reading literature or other media.
>being able to impress them
Sounds like Japan. Don't know if anybody else cares.
I know its that way with Japan yah and France as well from what I've heard.
To add to that: you'd impress me if you spoke Dutch fluently, accent or not. But a few lines is just cringey and it takes a lot of work to master a language. If you make a de/het(the) mistake I'd immediately think you're a try-hard. Just my personal opinion.
French with mid-level assholes yeah. Anyone important should be able to speak English by now or is almost dying at best.
Because our real royal blood line of Orange is DEAD. The LAST LIVING ORANGE WANTED TO MAKE NETHERLANDS A REPUBLIC, he was assassinated for it.
We were invaded by the Germans (((von nassau))) that claimed the throne with no legitimacy. They pretend to be Dutch, but even our national anthem claims loyalty to Germanic blood, just look it up.
