I’ve nothing against socialism/communism

Simply because I know there was really no other way for society to move forward given current automation tendencies. Automated taxis, trucks, farms, supermarkets, construction, factories everything really. “Dumb” labor by “dumb” people will vanish in the next decades, I have no doubt. All the while, the number of low IQ people globally will skyrocket.

Go figure what this means, 90% of people are too stupid for the jobs that remain after automation kicks in for real. You gotta have them starve and live on the street? Nope, the welfare state will care for them, providing entertainment, sex, food, games, clothes, everything. It’s gonna be a fun, communist society, I tell you. Not a society I want to live in, but hey, it’s gonna be interesting.

Imagine thinking strangers care about your opinion

The problem is that it's not economically viable. During the transition it will be harder and harder for the few working people to pay enough taxes to make sure everyone else can have their fun too. Even if automation manages to make productivity skyrocket, natural resources aren't infinite and producing pretty much anything creates waste and pollution. When you have Africa's population going from around 1 billion right now to between 4 and 6 billion by 2100 you know things are going to hit a brick wall eventually. Expect either a totalitarian dystopia where the average person lives on bread crumbs or a complete meltdown of the entire system followed by mass extinction. Perhaps a general AI could present an alternative option, but it could just as well result in one of the other two scenarios too.

We can produce energy, food, clothes, housing and entertainment for 10bn people right now. With automation we can do that too, just with a fraction of the currently required labor.
