The new 1984's (((french))) translation is pure newspeak

OK Jow Forums, first you should know that in France, Orwell's book have always been disregarded by intellectuals, mostly because they were in majority marxist thinkers.

But in the recent years, some of the concepts in 1984 such as thought police, thought crime or newspeak appealed to many members of the far right.

In 2018, a new translation for Orwell's book came out in France.

What are the major changes ?
Well, the style of the book written in english is more respected, and all misinterpretations from the former french translator in the storyline are erased.

But what striked some literature websites is the blatant undermining of the political message of 1984. For instance, the new translator said she wanted to stress the "sometimes fantastic dimension" of the novel.
So the traduction of the fundamental concepts are now bland and cannot evoke anything.

"thought police" ("police de la pensée") is now translated into "mentopolice", which can be understood both as "liarpolice" or "mentalpolice"

"thought crime" ("crimepensée") is now translated into "mentocrime", which could mean both "mentalcrime" or "liarcrime" for the lost French lector

"newspeak" ("novlangue") is now translated into "newtalk" ("nouveauparler"), as if the newspeak was a sort of modern slang and not a totalitarian language

"Absolute government" ("gouvernement absolu") is now translated into "absolutism", which remind every French lector of the muh ebil monarchy rather than a totalitarian regime

>Gee, who could be behind this new translation ?

Josée (((Kamoun))), born in Tunis, who also translated books from Bernard (((Malamud))), or Philip (((Roth))) who wrote for instance The Plot against America, American Pastoral, I married a communist, etc (look up the plot of these books)

kek, they don't even try to hide it anymore. Just be glad that almost every french will at least learn english to a level where they actually can read the book in it's original language. Nobody will fall for their tricks.

Also have a bump.

>having a mentos police

It's better to read works written in their original language. Besides, why bother with Orwell when you have Louis-Ferdinand Céline?

Happy i just bought the book on a ebay like site and not brand new.

the 20th century was a mistake.

Old books are the best books and are far less likely to suffer from abridgement or revision. Although a copy of 1984 I have from 1961 does have an afterword by the Jew Erich Fromm who was associated with the Frankfurt School.

>almost every french will at least learn english to a level where they actually can read the book
I doubt it
nowadays French, native included, can seldom speak their language semi-properly, let alone write it
as to English, most "people" are absolutely shit at it

yeah, but you gotta remember, the final thought of the book is that defeat is inevitable and big brother will reign supreme. it is marxist fantasy meant to mock those who would oppose this sort of rule. it does, however, give good insight into the realities that we are facing

this

I don't think that was Orwell's intention. It was more a prophecy of what would come to pass if good men did nothing. Orwell was a working class socialist who advocated for, among other things, an armed yeomanry. Marxism and all of its flavors have historically disarmed the people.

>the far right
The absolute far right are anarchists.
The far left would be total government control of the "truth"

Now I actually feel sad. I had to learn french and did it to a C1 level because it's one of my countries languages and you'r right. It feels like you abandoned your own language as every time I get to use it, it is responding to rock bottom tier slang shit gibberish.

Well at least got a beer left before I got to bed.

You guys seriously need to translate alt media and spread it like wildfire anonymously so you don't get caught. Take videos from RedIceTv, Jared Taylor, Mark Collett, No White Guilt, Millenial Woes, The Golden One, Nick Fuentes and others, then translate them into your language and spam them all over your sites. Some people will hate it, but there are some normies out there that will see it and become redpilled.
