On the ethics of kamikaze pilots

Are kamikazes cowardly fighters or desperate soldiers choosing to spend their life most dearly?

ask ur mom
a billion of MY KAMIKAZES spread in HER VAGINA LAST NIGHT

Human guided missiles are based
Technology can't be expected to work all the time

They were told they would be executed if they ((( chose ))) not to go on the mission.

it seems like americans only care when they were losing the cost/kill ratio

Signing up to be a soldier means expecting to die in battle.

In the cases where it was the most effective use of the aircraft (japan had alot of useless old planes) it was certainly effective, kamaikaze attacks inflicted far more damage against he american fleet than the traditional attackers did.

Depends.
Shooters are usually cowards that give themselves up to police when they encounter them. Which is so fucking telling about their mentality.

Kamikaze is about the honor. I mean, those guys weren't christians or something that were going to go to heaven, fighting for their god or something. They were sacrificing themselves for their nation. Real fucking stupid in my opinion.

>so uh.....where the fuck are your planes? Good job Japan

One of the stupidest military strategies ever. You had control of fucking CHINA and rather than build bombs and use them, you use the plane?

lol

Not all of them, handing a soldier a plane and threatening their life is a bit of an oxymoron. They did it to save dishonour of their families and so on.

But was it really such a terrible fate compared to the men burning aboard their own carriers? For a soldier to give his life to alleviate the suffering of comrades is one that transcends ideology.

Was there a nuke on that kamikaze plane?

her magazine got hit

They did NOT have control of China as a whole, maybe 20% of it...

Any warrior goes into combat knowing that they may die. Kamikaze pilots just know that they will die.
But at the time they were used that actually isn't all that different from just being a regular pilot.
The big problem is that Kamikaze attacks had limited early success against pocket carriers but against more armored targets they were pretty useless.
Also it was quicker to train a pilot to crash a plane than to be a combat pilot. Cowardly, no, desperate, yes.

in combination with attacker craft they are very potent because the gunners will need to prioritize even a burning/crippled kamikaze pilot before refocusing on a torpedo bomber or fighter group

They did for a while, but the resistance built up. I tend to forget that we entered the war late. It actually plays out sort of like a role playing game.

Our experience level was like, 1 but we could zerg shit. Which completely terrified the Japanese and the Germans. By the end of it, our experience level was at least on par with theirs and we could still zerg.

We always had excellent pilots and we were always at least equal with our mustangs to their zeros.

Just watched this movie, too bad OP a faggot be

I bet you post in the racebaiting 1-post-by-OP threads regularly

>the americans have an answer
>about fucking time
>fly that shit into the epicenter of the craft exactly when it fires

.Whhhhhhhaaaaaat

Lets just say that had the Japs won every history book would name all the pilots who sacrificed

indeed, and we would've seen the evolution of kamikaze strike craft into rocket interceptors

truly a terrifying weapon, with a proper ejection seat they might survive a non-magazine hit

They had won every battle prior to that, beating up peaceful people like bullies. Then the decided we'd be the next target. We were actually very nice, peaceful and isolationist prior to WW2. They made the biggest mistake ever attacking us. The only thing we did before then, is content skirmishes when people tried to fuck with us. Once we won? We said "fuck you, now it's ours." in the sense that you would pay dearly for firing a shot at us.

fpbp topkek

First of all, the first suicide attack in the Pacific Theater was a B-26 that attempted to hit the bridge of the Akagi in the battle of Midway.

Secondly, by the time Japan used Kamikazes, they had lost all of their veteran pilots. Sending those men on normal missions was almost equivalent to sending them to their deaths anyway. And as others have stated, they inflicted far more damage.

once it starts it becomes about revenge for the last battle instead of the impetus for war.

>B-26 that attempted to hit the bridge of the Akagi in the battle of Midway
also based

That may be Captain Weaboo, but they never should have attacked us. Imagine a much better society where we had victory, the US and Japan allying with England and the rest of the alliance.

Most everybody should have allied against Germany and the Regime. What pure idiotic diplomacy they had. But hindsight is 20/20 and we would have seen Hitler as a fuckup much earlier.

Kamikaze hit a liberty ship carrying ammunition in her magazine. Ship and kamikaze were both vaporized, everyone on board the boat was killed instantly.

>We were actually very nice, peaceful and isolationist prior to WW2
Like when you embargoed japan of its oil and sent American volunteers to fight with China and bomb Japanese army forces without declaring war?

to be fair that was par for the course and germany/soviets/allies were all doing it in spain

bow to the Chinese / Soviet horde,

more men then bullets

Japan attacked because of the American embargo on them. There was never going to be a Japanese-American alliance, at least as long as America continued to support China against Japan.

I don't think anyone would call Germany or the USSR in the late 30s isolationist and peaceful.

They were based and redpilled.

good point, it was a political facade to maintain political support of the people

Thoughts and policy should not be governed by the past. It's only now that we have. You didn't even live then.

We were crueil, sure. Yet I don't feel guilty about it. Things are good now, and we live good lives. Our laws let us live like decent people, shooting off guns in the country.

I'm partially Japanese, and my best friend's mother is from Laos. We're shooting off tons of guns here. Since it's the country, and a noice ordinance has already been explained to the sheriff before 11am.

Fuck you, this is our day, faggot ass bitch.

>It's a bit of an oxymoron

Maybe you don't understand, they were told to "volunteer" as kamikaze pilots, lest they were accused of being unpatriotic, at which point they'd be pressed more and more into taking up the kamikaze mission, and if resistance continued, they were at the mercy of the generals, who had no reason to look out for soldiers unwilling to give their lives for Japan. You think the generals weren't willing to make examples out of them? You really think those kamikaze pilots were all just about honor?

effective strategy can completely erase the necessity to sacrifice spacing for initiative in this method. No attempt to obscure their assault with smoke or shelling just meat and rifle. If they had concealment they would've been more effective with mere bayonets.

Soviet leadership was utterly useless in mitigating the human cost of their battles leading to the most embarrassing casualty ratios of modern warfare.

the picture from the post was a man crashing his experimental aircraft into a bomber doubtlessly against orders and wishes of command, to stop about 8000kg of bombs from reaching the civilians below.

brainwashed soldiers sent by desperate leaders

Sorry 12 PM

I can shoot things off (guns and I have an AA12) are outlawed here but they still do it. I actually untend to use it with hearing protection at midnight but uh...my dog hates it.

What next, you think the holocaust happened?

>AA12
Post pics or fuck off.

Also it's really hard to call the us isolationist when in living memory to Japanese at the time they had conquered the Philippines.

I get it was part of the times, but america wasn't just an innocent victim bystander.

If the mainland of the USA were directly threatened, Americans would do similar things. Kamikaze were acts of lunacy and desperation, but honorable until the end.

shit, that looks like a moth I recently splattered:

I think a man sacrificing himself for his ideals and for the bigger picture is the most badass thing around
Also women can't understand that

We should've never intervened in either World War. Germany was outstripping England on nearly every metric (Innovation, Income, Industrial might).

If the liberal democracies had some competition from Germany and Austria (rather than becoming puppets), the competition would've prevent modern liberal democracies from becoming the shitholes they are today.

Further, the World Wars gave FDR nearly dictatorial powers, we are still nowhere near dismantling his awful legacy. (See Detroit and our industrial heartlands).

Even Mussolini had more respect for private property than most Republican presidents of this era.

>Women can't understand that
THIS

Who gives a fuck, believe what you want. The suicidal combat practices of kamikaze pilots in WW2 and the various reasons behind it are not exactly a secret

Kamikazes are based warriors to their homeland. They were our enemies but I respect them far more than the commie faggots we're dealing with today.

Also a thread about Kamikaze attacks on Jow Forums should have this posted.

youtu.be/MdEOysneneU

every fucking time there's some blokes giving up their lives for the bigger picture on tv my gf always says "Why did he kill himself? He could've just ran!"
When watching pic related with her and she said that, this was the moment I realized sacrifice was a very foreign concept for women
I must add that I love this trope

Attached: file.png (1210x642, 619K)

Psych 101 would teach you that the Japanses looked at American invaders during WWII the same way as you pic. Ever consider that your pic was a omage to them? To their strength of character?

when I think of a mortal sacrifice it sends a shiver through my spine, giving us that feeling is why they did it.

I bet you also believe in the "rape of Nanking,'.

Attached: 1533307427194.png (614x605, 404K)

kinda outdated in the day of drones and remote control

Yep, only men understand it.
Shows the true greedy "Jew" like nature of the female.

I do, I'm here to share a taboo school of thought to most Americans. Despite being on the receiving end of these strikes, I'd expect my pilots to at least consider making the ultimate sacrifice if they could save many.

most of them can't understand what it'd be like to extend your shaking leg and head over the top of your trench into hissing machine gun fire. Many of these men were religious and felt that their courage would instill pride in their maker. Courage is not a cultural virtue expected of women and very few learn and exhibit it themselves.

Mostly, however in a heavy interference situation where commands cannot be sent or radiation interferes with the electronics a man will need to be at the stick.

if it's about the modern era it would be nothing more then desperation, but if it's about ww2 the IJN did it because the fighter planes were already fucked and they would have died anyway so just ramming into CV/CA/DD would make some damage and that their death wasn't in vain and the entirety of the honor after death shit, also the japanese pilots were strapped to their seats so they couldn't leave the plane anyway so they would have to battle until death so the only chance they had is to die really or hoping that the americans didn't shoot down the plane and just capture the pilot after he lands in some island

...

literally has nothing to do with what I've just said or even related to the topic retard

Then don't come here with that flag, kike.

Right. Women will always see that as weakness because she can't imagine herself ever doing something like that willfully.

By that time in the war, American anti air defenses were so strong compared to the Japanese air force that any bombing run was a suicide mission. The difference is that the kamikaze attacks were a lot more accurate than traditional bombing. Even if the japs had an endless supply of bombs kamikaze was a more effective tactic.

That footage has to be fake right?

what makes you think so?

I think "cowardly" is one word you cannot use to describe kamikazes.
