I have never been much a follower of extremist politics nor what any of you all warn about and talk about, however, upon visiting to Britain, particularly London, I have to say that I was incredibly mistaken to disbelieve all the users on this website. So far here, I have witnessed the following:
- Highly surprising amount of Arabs
- My Uber driver (from Sierra Leone) warning me about the crime and how Sadiq Khan has ruined the city
- British people (White Brits) were very amicable to my family and I, consistently wherever we went.
- No sales tax apparently
- Things in general are more expensive here than in the US
- Pretty architecture, but somewhat underwhelming
- Less smoking than Iberia, but still a lot of smoking
- Brits really like happy hour
- Indian-Brits are very westernized and acclimated culturally (this is great)
- The non-strict Arabic-Brits are more acclimiated than I thought, they let their wives wear colored Burkhas and there is a bit more familial freedom
- The strict ones are very strict and I saw many brits, white and non-white getting scared.
-The most surprising thing I found is the general lack of police, wherever I went, I saw no cops, throughout my whole day today I saw one cop next to the Tower of London, and saw two cop cars the entire day.
All my thoughts are just what I've seen so far, so I have no stats or solid data to back this up. But things here definitely seem to be changing for the worse. But in general, Brits were much nicer than I expected.
