How is it responsible to let a retarded 17/18 year old borrow 100k in loans without even making them have a plan for how to pay it back? also to lower prices you could stop making people take courses that have nothing to do with their major, like as a physics major minoring in chemistry i had to take stuff like psychology, american history before 1865, 2 spanish courses. There are tons of ways to cut the cost down.

I'm biased because I'm sitting on a pretty large pile myself, and any amount of tax increases I get will probably pale in comparison to paying off this + interest, but we can't just write everything off and let the current system continue. There needs to be something in place that rewards those who work harder and smarter than the rest, and are willing to put in the effort. Maybe a return to "College isn't for everyone" (although the job market is super fucked. Don't tell everyone to "just go into a trade lol" because a good chunk of trades can be outsourced or pay like shit)

Therein lies the rub. Probably half the people in US colleges have no business being there. Then they wonder why they don't have any good job prospects with their dime a dozen degree that any retard could get and 2.75 GPA.

PS - we really need budgeting in our public schools. I just recently starting budgeting for the first time at age 24 and holy fucking shit I could have probably saved myself 10-20k in debt over my lifetime if I just properly put down all of my expenses and tracked them rather than what I've been doing so far which is just trying to put everything on my CC then paying it off. No wonder I spiraled out of control so fast. Granted i live in expensive bum fuck Boulder, Colorado, but I could have saved myself a LOT of money otherwise
