True, I always felt you need a degree in finance. But I found out some companies have training programs of their, so they can have people do it "their way" I guess.

it's good but getting a job is based on nepotism in the financial sector.

Im not a jew, just a guy trying to make it... that is all fren.

You won't know shit, but you will be a salesman for your company's mutual funds. It's fake and gay.

But people have even less financial knowledge than you so you can fake it to trick them for the comissions.

economics degree-> government bureaucrat is superior

You need to major in finance or math/physics/engineering @ a reputable uni or you'll never make it as a financial advisor. Banks do love people who get a STEM degree in the TEM.

Making connections is a must too

No. Either become a lawyer (which is a full-fledged "financial advisor" with the proper client... and finding the proper client is EVERYTHING being a lawyer is about) or become an economist specializing in
a. actuarial science
b. financial services
In all three cases it will be an exciting career. Have fun and good luck!

nigga your president is fake and gay as fuck.
also im eating some fried chicken how ya doing over there close to 3rd world leaf land?

>Just become a lawyer bro
Bad idea. Job market is dogshit, OP will be 200k in debt and maybe eventually find a job at some firm earning 50k-70k.

Actuarial science is good though but don't major in econ if you want to do that. Major in math, stats or some universities have a major specific for actuarial science

See Thoughts?

yeah sure bro go into it

You can make lots of money but you have to have an aggressive sales personality or a huge social network. It also takes lots of time but after 10 or 20 years you will have lots of passive cash flow. You may want to have a side job while starting in the industry.

Anything in finance is notorious for requiring connections and you'll definitely need a degree. It doesn't necessarily have to be finance though, math or engineering works too as long as you learn the finance stuff on the side. Go to a reputable uni cause connections are everything (but still get a good GPA)

Well I already got my degree and its not in one of those, and not going back lol.

Good point, although depends in which state OP is based.
Major in maths/stats is a good option regardless. Numbers don't lie... if you look close enough. And if you look close enough, you will know what client is acceptable.

What's your degree in? Why don't you try getting in sales? There's lots of room for growth and if you're extroverted and willing to work long hours, you'll make it

Ironically, Political science. Now before everyone gangs up on me, you can do stuff with it, but its hard. Graduated last year. One year I worked as an intern in my states legislature (payed) and during the states legislative session. Graduated, then worked full time as an assistant for a state Rep for 6 months. She was a cunt, but thats what happens when you work for a dem. Made a lot of connection though. First thing I tried doing after graduating was to commission as officer in the Navy, Im not a good test taker and fell short for the application process.

Political science is an excellent choice but you know as well as I do that it requires a lot of support either in form of money or relations.

>whats goes on in this field?
you manage mutual funds.
occasionally a client comes in, and you feed him some bullshit about the beta of his portfolio so he will stop bothering you.

Yes, at the ned of the day it really depends on who you know. Most political science people ether end up in law school But its like the Canadian bro said, job mark is tough for lawyers and why waste money in debt, when there is a chance to get experience and make money.

Also interested in this field.

I'm currently an accounting major. Love trading crypto and stocks. Also cheaper than a Jewish nigger so I'm good at retaining cash.

I fucking LOVE Roth 401ks.

>Political science is an excellent choice
lmfao at all the cope ITT. If you're not studying STEM you are an absolute fucking retard.

Well if that Canadian user gets back to me, thanks. Wont reply for a while, hitting the weights. Thanks for the advice though /pol

its easier to just be a book keeper, and do the same thing.
