Audi, VW, BM, Merc all ask for small fortunes for their cars. Even their base models are expensive as fuck, A1, Polo, 1 series, A class all looking at between £20k - £30k out of the dealership brand new when you've added everything you want to it.
I even mocked up a new feista ST on fords website ended up costing £26k for their base model hot hatch lmao.

Poor anti theft protection
If you know what I meem

Also depreciation.

because average americans are broke as fuck right now and cars are more expensive then they ever have been before

Most cars made after 2001 look like fucking shit

this, cars have been getting uglier and more expensive

New cars with electronic everything are expensive as hell to fix. Why don't I just keep my older car and maintain it well? Plus I can do my own maintenance and not have to go to a specialist mechanic.

Going to lease a new Kia this month!!!

>tfw Vehicle maintenance isn't allowed on the property.

People are asking ridiculous amounts for used cars. I see do many ads like this
>5-10 yo vehicle
>150k-175k+ miles
>interior worn
>signs of rust
>$8,000-$10,000
It's fucking crazy.

>19 years old
>I went out and bought a 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV for my first car.
>All my friends are jealous

>kia
fucking commie get a chevy or at least an acura for your wife's daughter

If I buy a new car it will be a Toyota, not some piece of shit made in mexico or china.

Lots of boomers saying "I know what I got"

I got mine for $500. It works great and was garaged. I was laughing at the prices boomers want for piles of shit. I really can't wait for them to move on.

I hear this every single time. The Boomer memes are real.

I am the original owner of a 1999 civic I bought new when I graduated high school. Manual transmission, manual locks, windows. There is nothing to break. It has been my daily driver for 20 years and never broken down. Just needed standard maintenance. Just over 200k miles.

I like the car I have. I bought it new and it's not that old.

It's because of cash for clunkers.

The secondary market for nearly anything is filled with retards and boomers who greatly overestimate the value of what they have. Its only time to worry when a decent deal cant be found anywhere.

You think I'm made of money?

jordanford.net/new-San Antonio-2019-Ford-F 150-XLT-1FTEW1E50KKD24426

Its just all price, they say its all tech but the Tundra doesn't have any of the tech and is more expensive.

I see the statistics, but in my area, which used to be poor ass Virginia, I'm seeing more and more $100k vehicles, so I don't know how to interpret that, other than the poor getting poorer and the dumber poor taking out loans they'll never pay back. Land rovers those gay ass Porsche SUVs (IMO an SUV is counter to what Porsche stands for, which is shitty german performance at a price way to expensive for what they are, and are only sold because Burgers are too fucking fat to fit in Porsche's coupes, but want the brand name) are the hotness here right now. The problem with new vehicles is that most are too expensive due to bullshit safety features and bullshit technocrap I don't need in a car. I don't want an air bag to deploy under my balls during a fender bender, nor do I want an infotainment system, so I'm not willing to spend extra money for that shit. On the opposite end of the spectrum, new cars that I actually like are outside of my budget, and I'm not taking out a 20 year loan for a car because I like it. Fuck Automakers! Fuck niggers! Fuck Jannies! Hopefully this crashes the used market to UK levels and I can finally upgrade from my 1994 shitbox and not feel buyers remorse on prices.

can't be more expensive than the bull you hire fuck your wife so you can fap

Canyonero!!!!!!! Canyonero.

All the late 1990s Toyotas are about to hit the end of their lifespan in the next 5 years.

This will cause a mass rush of new blood into the car buying process

They've been getting huge with the exception of compacts.
Every other car is overweight and plasticky.

And all of them are over-priced

Just want something that ain't a shitbox. All my cars in my 20s having blown head gaskets got tiring after a while.

You just have to message them all constantly ridiculing them. I do it even though I'm not looking for a car.

I also message people who list things disingenuously for $1 saying I'll pay them what they are asking and people who don't list the mileage I'll harass them for not doing it.

Try cracking open a beer and joining me in this process, it will cure your boredom

I'll let you in on something: vanishingly few people actually buy cars new anymore. Especially at that level of the market. They are PCPd for £300 a month or less and that's that. Three years later they are sold on. Then they enter the used market.

I collect cars and for my daily driver I bought, new, a Range Rover. The man at the dealership informed me that I was the first person in six months to buy the thing outright. Everyone else leases. At the top end of the market and in niche performance stuff you'll still get buyers, but for the bulk of punters the lease draws them in. It's why you've got people on council estates with big Audis. Dazza the scaffolder cannot afford a Q7 but if he combines his cash in hand money with his fat wife's benefits they can get it on finance.

Nah, it's boomers

Buys new car
Only worth 50% of that price 3 years later
Feels stupid
Never buys new car again

Killed In Action.

Former GM of a dealership here...too bored to get into it, but this has been building up for a long time. Too much competition for an industry that depends on people constantly flipping their vehicles. Lots of variables in play, but it was destined to bottom out.

Loans are being stretched out.

72 months is your standard now. Which is 6 years. 96 and 120 month loans already exist. Those loans will outlast any European car and any crypto European care like Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Nissan/Mitsubishi and probably any GM too

This right here.. with a vengeance.
Fucking boomers. Trying to juice every last drop out of you for their pieces of shit they got for practically nothing

No. No they aren't.

I'm driving a '94 Camry and while I think the transmission might be going, they're cheap. I don't think you understand how reliable they made the '90s cars. The only question is whether or not I'd want to pay to have it replaced or just buy a new car, and I'm on the fence about that even. I could find a hobbyist with a lift, buy it myself, and pay him much less than a mechanic. I've only got maybe 120k miles on it so the engine is still sound. The thing about 90's Toyota is that most were scrapped long before the parts actually went bad, so used parts are retarded cheap, and while I certainly wouldn't say you can drive one forever, Even in 2019, parts are still retarded cheap. If you have a good example, like I do, and you're willing to work on it yourself to the extent of your capabilities (I personally would not attempt a transmission job without a lift, but there are many things you can do yourself without a lift), it'll be a while yet before they're officially extinct, especially considering people routinely sell them for under a grand. If you're smart and pick up a $500 beater, and only replace important components that are on the down and out, you can still come off well ahead of a new car for one in driveable condition.

>Every single quarter has to make more profit than the last, forever into infinity.
Nothing wrong with capitalism guys, nothing to see here.
Honestly, who gives a squirt of piss about sales being down ~6% except for faggy stockholders?
>God fucking damn it, I only made $94 today instead of $100, the world is on fire!!!!

How can I profit off of this? To get a new car for deep discounts? Just wait?

You sound like a sucker, you're the perfect mark for any car dealership/salesman

>$42,555.00 + TAX + TITLE+ FEES

You've got a 94 with 120k miles. The average American puts 12k miles on their car, in the west its 15k.

You have 25 year old car with less than 10 years of milage on it. That's not representative of the acutal population and its no wonder why it still is going. Many of those 1990s Toyotas are breaking 200k as we speak.

>Go to dealership

If the auto industry bottoms out they'll sell existing inventory at a loss retard

With Jennifer ready to chat you up..

Selling to boomers is even more difficult and the classic/Motorsport market is nearly entirely boomers.

I have thirty cars in my collection and five motorbikes. Last year I listed two cars for sale, both BTCC cars, and the phone rang off the hook. Unfortunately all of these calls were from rich men in their 60s who were trying to give me sales advice. I'd priced them too high, apparently, and I would never sell. "Now, let me tell you a thing or two about these things" etc etc. I'd sit there twirling the phone cable whilst they droned on about the 1986 season and eventually I'd just end the call.

Two weeks after listing I sold them for the asking price to a Japanese guy in his 30s. I closed the advert and they were still ringing a week later to tell me they'd never sell at that money and they had heard a thing or two about that part of the market.

The car of your dreams

Attached: negreo.jpg (1280x720, 138K)

urinate on it too, if is smells bad it's worth less

>$1500 rent
>$1,000,000 house
>why aren't they buying ___

The worst part is, they hold their fucking value too. No bullshit, my dad found the cheapest one in the best condition on the entirety of the east coast, Took a train all the way to jersey, and drove it all the way back to VA. I don't know the model year, but it's as new as it got before backup cams were mandated. Everyone told me Ford's trucks were reliable! The engine started misfiring shortly after. Don't know what the problem was, but it firmed me on only buying nip shit.

>i know what ive got

You ARE the boomer

There's no vehicle in class better than a full size Range Rover and they could make them in Uganda for all I care, they're the best place to be for pretty much any routine driving. I also get large discounts, over 20 percent as a baseline.

I've had most of the competitors, too. The only one that came close is the XC90. It's better in every way than any of the German SUVs and Toyota no longer sell a V8 Land Cruiser here.

Yeah right, sure thing. They'd rather destroy their own inventory than sell it at a loss.
They're selling pick-ups for +40 grand, they're shameless in their greed.. and you think they'll sell you something at a loss?

You're a fucking goy dude.. the type you see getting ripped off while saying how great of a deal they're getting. They'll dismantle their own product before cutting your stupid ass any slack

Attached: 5467654.png (191x195, 25K)

Shame about that Land Cruiser. That range rover will last about 5 years tops without becoming an endless money put. Should have imported a Land Cruiser then.

>poor retards stop buying new cars
>waaaaaaaah why is the used market so expensive for shit

Pay me now or pay me later

He's so oblivious about it, I was just going to ignore him.

Are we on each others side or what?
First you agree with me, then you attack me..

Just admit that dealerships are a rip off, because there's no way you'll ever get a new car at a reasonable price - no matter how many rebates they toss in there

Fuck Government Motors. They made their deal with the devil in 2009. They can die with it.

>only buying nip shit.
this is the way to go

Attached: Toyota_Corona_EX_Saloon_(rear),_Denpasar.jpg (3172x1712, 3.58M)

Everything except Toyota is fucking trash. Everybody’s dancing around this issue.

Musk knows this, 90% of a Tesla is Toyota parts.

Every company in America thinks it will get by simply raising prices. Years ago an average smart phone was $400 now its $1000 and rising. Do these retarded companies not realize they can't do this for ever especially when they outsource all jobs from their companies?

I've had the two previous generations and neither gave me any issues. Fuel is the biggest expense. The rear suspension was replaced under warranty on the 2008 model I had and that was it. Servicing was quite reasonable, too. I look after my cars and I drive them well. That surmounts most issues that people perceive as inherent.

>money pit
A crude subject but a £110,000 car was, in relative terms, the same purchase for me as a week's shopping would be for an average working Briton. It's not something I worry about.

What is reasonable and what is realistic are two different things.

If I'm buying a new car the price has to be realistic, not reasonable. What the average person thinks is a reasonable price for a car is likely what they went for 20 years ago. Somebody has to buy new for used to exist.

You can't just not play the game you have to drive.

I already outright own mine, and it ain't broke yet. I'm driving it into the ground. Fuck leases and Fuck usury.

Forget toyota and forget Musk. Kia is the new peoples car.
Next time you're on the highway, look around and take note on which automaker you see the most of.

In second place you'll see Honda, in third maybe toyota

Based and troll pilled. Any screen shots of the rage. I've considered doing this for fun.

I was under the impression that the Ford F150 was the most popular vehicle in North America

Did you not see all the men spending money on that girls bath water?

Five year old sporty Range Rovers which cost 100k new are going for 8-12k in my neck of the woods. And nobody’s dumb enough to take this “great deal” on an Indian car.

>Why don't you buy a new car user?
greedy government makes them too expensive to own with fees and regulations and taxes.

Pffft.. no.
In the pick-up truck category maybe, but I think Chevrolet has them beat

It works though. Lots of people out there have good jobs and loads more are desperate to appear rich at any cost

Could you please link me these 2014 model full size Range Rovers for 8 thousand USD? I am sure there are plenty.

I'll be a bit more simple, seeing as you're intent on having an argument. I could buy one every week of the year.

>Why don't you buy a new car user?
because if I buy a new car feds shows up at my house to get tax shekel.

Then sell a decent fucking car. I don't want everything to be electronic, AI controlled and impossible to repair myself. Come up with an affordable car with a simple design that doesn't look retarded. The Toyoto Echo was the right idea.

Because it loses 15% of its value just by driving it out of the dealership.
I am a bit of a poorfag, so I have 2008 Audi A4 B8 and it actually ain't that bad. It does all the work I need, is comfortable, repair costs are the same like on Passat. I guess that even if I had the money to buy a new car, I would still buy something pre-owned, so I don't lose a shit ton in depreciation so quickly.

Toyota Echo*

I fucking hate what the (((Modern))) car market has become...

In my honest opinion, anything made after 2009 or 2010 is trash, shit or cancer.

New cars are so FUCKING dificult to fix, and come loaded with a bunch of fuckery, and FUCK are they over priced as FUCK.

Not to mentioned they are plastic trash, way overfucking priced, and are made so they dont last.

And FUCK, WHEN SOMETHING BREAKS YOU BETTER LUBE UP THAT ASSHOLE CUS THEY GUN FUCK YOU SILLY.

I'm never buying a new car EVER FUCKING AGAIN.

The dealerships just keep fucking you over with their fees, shitty financing and shitty cars.

Cars & Trucks are now made to not last or break as fucking much as fucking possible to fucking milk you of your money like the dumb fucking cash cow you are.

Attached: when you fuck up tha camaro.jpg (596x399, 65K)

Probably bought it from a shifty Russian or Jew lot. I used to purchase used cars for sale overseas and every lot I delt with in Jersey was this way.

This, most modern cars just look generic and soulless

Stop filling our cars with techno bullshit we don't want.

Most popular vehicles in 2018 were:

1. Ford F-150
2. Chevy Silverado
3. Dodge Ram
4. Toyota Rav4
5. Nissan Rogue
6. Honda CR-V
7. Toyota Camry
8. Chevy Equinox
9. Honda Civic
10. Toyota Corolla

Not everyone is a mechanic though man. Not everyone wants to throw tons of money at an older car to fix a problem just to turn out to have the same fucking problem a year later or even bigger one. Old cars really do suck, you fix one problem and five more pop up.

How can you tell that?

Because a basic work truck cost $40k now
These car companies made vehicles for boomers and now boomers are dying off or not buying because they are retired and sit on their ass all day.

You can't use the reverse Reddit argument when wages have been stagnant since like 9/11.

>>Every single quarter has to make more profit than the last, forever into infinity.

>Nothing wrong with capitalism guys, nothing to see here.

Bro it's not even capitalism that's the problem there, it's corporate accounting on fiat money systems. Capitalism with a gold standard and no government intervation means capital ACCUMULATES so one can go a quarter or two without profit since one's money is still valuble.

Now the money is depreciating all the time because the government controlls it and essentially prints it out of thin air. Now corporations constantly have to make this money because they're in constant debt too.

>Honestly, who gives a squirt of piss about sales being down ~6% except for faggy stockholders?
>God fucking damn it, I only made $94 today instead of $100, the world is on fire!!!!

It's this though. That's why I don't blame capitalism, I blame corportate-government-fueled-culture that creates the eternal rat race feeling that wasn't present in the first 100 years of more actual capitalism our country had.

Plenty of manufacturers make sedans still, consumers are preferring SUVs and crossovers

Not Ford.

I have about $435,000 in my bank account and I've never bought a new car in my life, and I don't plan to.
The last vehicle I bought was a 1997 F-250 a couple years ago for $4,200.
That's another reason why they want to racially replace white men with brown squatamalans and SE Asians.
They watch Avengers movies and buy new bugman pillbox cars and bugman iPhones each time there's an upgrade. These brown golems are already the ideal consumerist units for them and can hit the ground running. No racemixing required. They are already the 90 IQ slave race they want.

You are also losing money having it sit in a bank account getting killed by inflation
