People died, people were encamped, imprisoned, and killed, but there was no systematic murder of jews involving mastubation death machines and trucks that dumped living jewish children straight into ovens, and gas chambers murdering 6 million jews while every Nazi was a closet homosexual deviant who performed crazy anatomically impossible experiments on jewish "patients" or any of the other crazy stories you hear about.
This is just my take on the denial thing, I'm not saying I'm a denier. But TLDR I think the whole denial thing is that it happened, but it was blown waaay out of proportion and people kinda went wild with the stories to make themselves seem more heroic or whatever.
Maybe some were gassed with Zyklon B by panicking guards towards the end of the war, maybe some were burned in ovens to try to cover up crimes knowing that the allies were closing in, maybe some experiments were done. But it wasn't the shit everyone is taught in school where the Nazi's collected all the jews and started gassing them day in day out and throwing their bodies in ovens in a systematic destruction of the jewish religion. They were put into camps, the camps were shitty, and as the war dragged on and Germany ran out supplies, the camps got shittier, the germans had no ammo to kill all the prisoners so they started doing whatever they could to get rid of them.
