Why don't "mass gatherings" work anymore?

Why don't "mass gatherings" work anymore?

>Occupy Wall Street
>Arab Spring
>PEGIDA
>Yellow Vests
>Venezuela CIA-backed coup

It used to be that mass gatherings stroke fear in the hearts of rulers and ignited political change. But in the last decade or so it seems that these "revolutions" just become engulfed by a media circus and then die out. People share a few hashtags, some celebrity speaks out for "the cause" and then... everything back to normal.

When was the last time that a nation protesting on the streets had any real impact?

They never worked stupid. Violence is the only thing that ever works.

Nothing left to protest really

slacktivism is retarded, all social media is pointless

>yay climate change tits out for climate!

Checked, might makes right

Mass gatherings where you peacefully assemble then go home are intended to change people’s minds.
You don’t change a moloch-worshipping psycho jew pedo murder-rapists’ mind.
The only way you change a mind like that is with hollow-points or a nice hefty rock.

It just did in hong kong

It works when you’re dealing with an idiot, but not when you’re dealing with someone who is outright malicious.

As well as seizing buildings and street violence.
Even Ghandi had people assassinated.

Interesting observation. People no longer physically protest societal injustices, they digitally "voice" outrage then go back to Netflix, sports, etc.

These are mostly things used by various elite groups as a cudgel against other elite groups. I believe even Yellow Vests are ops by low end French aristocrats of the old order.

The elites realised the masses are pussies that wont do ANYTHING
The absolute max a member of the public will do is have a protest were they maybe have a little fight with a police officer. Just taking there anger out on the puppet and not the puppet master

Because the splintered, decentralized efforts of a bunch of random strangers are no match for the focused efforts of a hierarchically ordered group.

Also... the means of communication available to average people (glorified whisper campaigns) are no match for the instant, nation/world-wide power of mass communication forms. Those forms are only available to millionaires, billionaires and the people they approve of.

There will never be another meaningful revolution on earth until there's a revolution concerning the power and influence of mass media.

And don't flatter yourselves with idiotic references to your "meme magic" (brexit, Trump, etc). The genuine sentiments behind those results were probably blunted beyond belief by professional manipulators. Look at how toothless Trump and Brexit turned out to be. You're always inside of their mason jar (even when you think you're not).

>The elites realised the masses are pussies that wont do ANYTHING

I've come around to this conclusion as well. I believe the aristocrats had such contempt for the unwashed masses for a reason. They are volatile and easily manipulable.

>Because the splintered, decentralized efforts of a bunch of random strangers are no match for the focused efforts of a hierarchically ordered group.

This encapsulates everything that needs to be said, really.

And good points about the ineffectiveness of Trump and Brexit. All circus and no bread.

The people going to them are stupid and don't even know what they're protesting and can't even agree on what they want, it just feels good to be angry to them.

The public is always too stupid to understand why it's done. Look at Tennant. His manifesto was clear, dealt with questions people might have, and was readily available for anyone to read, yet your average normie just thinks he was some monster looking for fame. The media can spread lies faster and further and then reinforce it through repetition to begin the brainwashing process before the truth gets out.

Talking out my ass here, but here are some wild guesses.Bear in mind though that all of these are highly situational and vary from country to country.

1) As you said, media circus. General public sees a media circus and treats it as such, thus undermining popular support.

2) Polarization of society into neets and the too busy. Families tend to consist of two working and exhausted parents, who just dont have the time to get involved. Generally those people become so worn down by their lifestyles they begin to disdain those with the free time to get involved.

3) Related to above, a tighter job markets means people fear losing their jobs. Taking time off work or getting arrested at a protest is more likely to result in job termination than it used to be. Hell, people dont take sick days because they fear for losing their jobs.

4) More effective government techniques for defusing social unrest. This is diverse and includes shilling and disinformation, protest group infiltration aimed at discrediting them, better crowd control and riot police tactics, social media subversion, and threat assessment cost benefit analysis. The latter means a willingness to use overwhelming violence against protesters sooner rather than later if the threat is considered important enough.

5) Dilution of causes through trivialization. Too many protests over issues considered by the general public to be trivial tends to tar all causes, serious as well as petty, with the same brush.

6) Democracy. We know its bullshit, but governments around the world have learned that its better to portray themselves as democratic. It helps them quells dissent and protest by saying you can vote to change things. Surprisingly a huge proportion of national populations buy into this shit. Well, perhaps it is not surprising actually.

Democracy is marvelously effective at convincing idiots that they're in control. And people who think they're in control (but really aren't) will never fucus their efforts in the correct way at the correct targets. 9 times out of ten, they can be easily tricked into fighting with one another over the "here today, gone tomorrow," puppet-politicians and political parties... or just slinging shit at one another instead of their true, common enemies. This is in addition to all the things I said here. And this will NEVER change. Democracy was always a meme. And the "power of the people" was always a meme. Even if you did all the dirty work of tearing down this government, it would just end up being refashioned exactly according to the designs of those who are currently ruling the roost.

The things that people would ACTUALLY need to do to seize power are things they would never do (because they lack the knowledge, organization and group-cohesion).

The sign about 1984 seems rather ironic.

Be USA
Oppressed by ruling elites
Protest without resorting to 2nd amendment
Done goofed
That's why
Society has been made passive and tamed
