I live in Missouri, which most people consider to be a redneck hellhole, when they bother to think about it at all (Just out of curiosity, what do you think of when you hear "Missouri"? As far as I can tell, it's one of the least remarkable states in the Union.) I went to Oklahoma City on a road trip once and I was impressed at how much of a dump it was. The Indians just lie around on the curb as if they have nothing better to do than wait for their checks from the government. I've only ever seen one nice looking place in OK, and that's the casino complex on the Quapaw res. Basically, Oklahoma strikes me as Texas with less pride, more Indians, and a worse state government.

I'm from tulsa. It's the meth capital of the whole world, so naturally there's some weird and dark shit going on all the time. Some parts of north tulsa are like the wild west. Cops don't even bother with some areas unless called. Nobody really does anything except get fucked up and make money. Still a great place for the most part

The heat does suck, also checked. I will say I found it less oppressive than the 95% humidity gulf south heat though. At the very least it gets cool enough at night here to provide relief. I remember consecutive weeks in NOLA where the temperature never got below 80 degrees, even at night. You could feel the heat radiating from the soil.
