Wow. This is just one day after outdoors clothing retailer "Denali" collapsed.
>Trump's economy is wonderf-
Oh really?
>Charming Charlie going out of business, will close all 261 stores in Chapter 11 bankruptcy
>Jewelry and accessories retailer Charming Charlie filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Thursday with plans to close all of its 261 stores in 38 states.
>The filing marks the company's second Chapter 11 case, qualifying as what restructuring industry professionals call a "Chapter 22" bankruptcy.
>Charming Charlie closed about 100 stores during its previous bankruptcy, which ended in April 2018. The retailer used that process to cut debts and slash other costs, but "these efforts simply were not sufficient to stabilize" the business and deliver profits, the company said Thursday in a court filing.
>The company said it faced "unsustainable operating expenses, including onerous leases" at a time when many brick-and-mortar stores are battling with online retailers.
>More than 7,000 store closings are already in the works or completed so far in 2019 across the retail sector, according to Coresight Research.
Retail chain Lunds & Byerlys is shutting down 14 of its pharmacies:
>Lunds & Byerlys pharmacies to close
>Lunds & Byerlys announced the company will permanently close its 14 pharmacy locations.
>According to a release from the company, the last day the pharmacies will be open will be July 16.
>The company says it plans to transfer its prescription files to nearby Walgreens locations.
>"Unfortunately, it has become increasingly difficult for retail pharmacies given a number of economic challenges in the industry," the company said in a statement. "As a result, we have continue to incur significant losses in our pharmacy operations, and it is no longer feasible to continue offering this service."
'Economic challenges'? When the stock market is hitting record highs? That's not supposed to be happening, Jow Forums. Not unless Trump's economy is a bit of... a fraud...

The economy has been in a depression since 2009 and nobody has done anything about it other than cover it up.

This. I never go to a store if I don't have to. You get some retard that knows less than you do trying to up-sell you on stupid shit, or no help in a fuck off huge place where you're trying to find something. I buy almost everything online at this point unless it's something I want to see the quality on like a monitor or TV and to be fair Best Buy has the least amount of retards in it out of most stores.

Oh no, I can't buy overpriced clothing made by a 6 year old Korean boy at a sweatshop in Vietnam anymore.
Why go on with life????

Everytime one of these threads are posted it's always shit I've never heard of. Stuff like Sears and Kmart going under are kind of significant, but that has more to do with the changing time and their own mismanagment rather than an indicator of the larger economy. OP is a faggot brainlet and should kill themselves
IMO it is because there is no such thing as a sustainable business model. All businesses seem to operate under the "If you're not growing, your dying!" mantra and therefore over extend every fucking time. Sustainability and acceptable levels of profit/wealth retention are not a part of the ethics foundation of business owners and founders.
Keep an eye on the liquidation websites. Buy this shit in bulk for pennies on the dollar to sell on ebay. Exactly where Charlie should have been selling it.
I remember one time I a present there and the cashier asked for my email and phone to send a newsletter, and I panicked and said I didn't have an email or a phone

Commies deserve to be shot on sight.

This. In addition, chains close down individual sites all the time. Maybe the rent is too high. Maybe the neighborhood has gone to hell. Maybe a competitor has horned in on their business.
Josiah Hill
>people choose to buy online instead of traditional stores >this is trumps fault, the economy must be nosediving

I took my kids to the final day sale at toys-r-us as we walked through the store I made them take in the glory of a toy store while preaching about the bad internet. I wanted them to be able to tell their grandkids about the last toy store.

It was one of the more popular mid-range women's accessories stores.

Hey, this just means mom and pop stores will boost in popularity again, give a chance for the smaller stores like it should be in US.
