I was here very around 2007 but I didn't actually participate daily until about 2009, the former two years having been spent lurking. I never really noticed the shift in culture until about 2012 personally and maybe that's because I wasn't here when things really began, but it really became an elephant in the room in 2015 and beyond.

Isn't it bizarre how it's been hijacked by the mainstream and intelligence agencies.
I hope it wasn't always that way from the start.
I miss the days of early Jow Forums and the web from then in general.
I would trade speed and ease of access to media of the modern way for the creative and free days of the early web.
