Are GMO Crops really bad? Or is it similar to anti vacc stuff. Anyone got studies, sources?

People have been eating GMO food for two generations now. Other than creating two generations of brain dead retards nothing bad has happened.

They are fine

Are you referring to actual Gmo products or just fruits and veggies interbred to create more resilient ones. Because its a big diff

Looked like a dogdick in the thumbnail, was met with dissapointment upon opening

The only way GMOs could be bad is if you believe that the DNA being slightly different will kill you. There is legitimately nothing bad about GMOs. At least with GMOs, they don't have to pit potentially harmful pesticides in them or risk insect laying eggs inside them that you night accidentally eat.

>Because its a big diff
Please expound on the differences, I'd love to hear them.

eat your doggies

Post the in-store prices

Ground labrador is about 7€/kg here, 9€ if organic

GMOs are fine. It's the pesticide that gets you. Soon we'll have mass indoor crop growth though, with the revolutions going on quietly due to the amazing min/maxng you can achieve through LED hydro and no-soil growth.

Genetics is still not yet entirely understood, so it is not entirely without risk. However taking a gene from one edible thing and splicing it into another edible thing is pretty much certain to make something that is also edible.

For example, a protein from an arctic fish that helps prevent it freezing in icy water spliced into a vegetable that allows that vegetable to grow better in colder climates.

No, LOL. Potatoes and Apples can be deadly but the current generations don't produce enough poison to kill you.

>are they bad
Yes and no. For me I’m concerned with genetic diversity of crops because if a blight hits the crop is fucked. Then you also get asshats like Monsanto who sue you for (((stealing))) their crop’s pollen

How does your post relate to mine?

>potatoes and apples produce poison
brazilian intellectuals

The majority of GMO crops is "roundup ready", meaning it's resistant to Roundup, aka glyphosate. An endocrine disruptor found in increasingly large amounts of both foodstuffs as well as kids bodies. Also believed to be the main culprit behind bee die off etc.
Also keep in mind that Monsanto who owns and produces this shit will literally sue you out of your land and everything you own should you be so bold as to save off seeds from your harvest to use for next years crops.

Yeah, it's really fucking bad.

They do. Potatoes are in the nightshade family - don't eat green ones. Apples produce cyanide - don't eat the seeds.

monsanto has been at it with their plants that resist pesticides for some time now. one can be as simple as cross pollinating and the other involves changing the dna of a plant

>GMOs are fine. It's the pesticide that gets you
And the main GMOs sold are sold because they're resistant to the very same pesticide the producer of the GMOs has patented.
Imagine that.

GMO in principle is fine and quite desirable to pursue.
The problem lies with the investing corporations who engineer the GMOs to only work with a specific fertiliser, specific insecticide and be infertile.
In essence they're genetically castrating crops for maximum profit and making farmers dependent on their agricultural services.
A fucking profession dedicated to sovereignty and independence, made dependent on a corporation.
That's what's wrong with GMO's implementation, but it doesn't detract from the possible benefits.

>you will reach 400% growth rate in CO2-shed farms and subsistence farm within financial reach in your lifetime
It feels good to know.

>The problem lies with the investing corporations who engineer the GMOs to only work with a specific fertiliser, specific insecticide and be infertile.

>fertiliser
Organically impossible. Plants need what they need.
>insecticide
Well yeah, they have to be tailored to a specific chemical. Can't do it all.
>infertile
That's part of safety protocols. You are releasing genetically modified organisms into the environment. If is all goes horribly wrong you don't want it to be self replicating and have us going out napalming fields.

You'd have to eat a crazy number of apple cores in a short amount of time to do anything to your body.
Might as well avoid driving a car for fear of a crash

This is the only correct answer ITT

Yes, but it is still the case that they produce cyanide. Green potatoes will make you very sick though. Don't do it kids.

Eat our dick potatoes goy
