People flooded to the site, it was never the same afterwards. At the time we were bitter and pissed off about the whole thing. The amount of newfags that flooded the site after those protests is easily the largest injection of new users Jow Forums has ever seen. However in retrospect it completely changed something inside Jow Forums which was now seen as a force that could change the world. I believe it gave the site it's longevity.

It really was the beginning of meme magic as we know it. Those Jow Forums organized Scientology protests were ground zero. It convinced people that we could make a difference. It's so ironic to see people on this board which is the progeny of those protests now talking about how something like this could never work.
