Remember when California was a Republican stronghold that was as far right as Texas? When Nixon and Reagan won CA trivially? Then remember what Reagan did in 1987 when he gave amnesty to 800k people and through chaining it ballooned up to 11M? Texas is already lost, the seeds are planted. The best you can do is move out before the next census so that when Texas flips it's at least not worth that many votes or congressmen.
