Mainly I was thinking if Russia were to attack I don't think poland would join them. And nato presence is heavy in poland. Those are the main differences that seperate them from countries like ukraine, belarus etc. Also standard of living is higher.

Finland was never eastern during the cold war, at least not on political maps.
We are geographically eastern but culturally independent (Baltic, Finno-Ugric sphere) but also with heavy influence from northern and central Europe. Only problem with Baltic and Finnic sphere is that they don't correspond with any geographic region.

-V4 is its own thing as eternally fucked by Germany/Austria
-Baltic States are their own thing
-Belarus with Ukraine are russians v2

I would put Ukraine and Belarus as an independent region. Only problem is that as Belarus is practically a colony of Russia, Ukraine can't really justify being a region on its own. If we're going to divide down to smaller regions anyway we might as well also make a Nordic region and put Finland into it instead of the west.
