So I'm an American about to head to London for a week to spend on holiday. Any Brits can recommend good places to eat and visit? I know the restaurants next to tourist traps are no good, and would prefer places locals favorite. I also am interested in historical locations, especially regarding Reformation preachers and other sites like that.
In all honesty get the fuck out of London if you can. It's a shithole. It's also about as British as Mexico.

Well I am going to be staying in a suburb of London, and wouldn't mind seeing a smaller town in England too. I know London doesn't represent the UK similar to how New York City doesn't represent the US.

>I'm an American about to head to London for a week to spend on holiday. Americans do not go "on holiday" you fake Eurotrash infiltrator.

Or, what's a delightful town relatively near London to visit and experience?
I'm heading there, so I'm using the lingo. Calm down, fellow burger.

Thank you! I just looked the town up, looks really nice and has beautiful historic places to visit. Any good place to eat there that you could recommend?

Definitely going to Smithfield Market, Bunhill Fields, and Wesley's Chapel. Any other recommendations?

St. Albans in Herts is a good place to visit. If you aren't hugely fat there is a medieval clock tower to climb, a saints cathedral and one of our oldest pubs. stalbansmuseums.org.uk/visit/clock-tower Next week is going to be hot (for us) 80-90 tuesday

Thank you, I'll check it out. Old pub sounds like just what I want.
Visit Yorkshire. It's actually British, unlike London. You can get to York in a couple of hours by train from Kings Cross. London's an overpriced shit hole

That's one of the places I'm looking at, good to know it's still British. Best pub there?
