When President Wilson created the Federal Reserve, the sedition act, and engaged in WW1, he was making a deal to prevent the imposition of socialism on America. So the elite backed off and worked with the federal government to end socialism at the time (see palmer raids, first red scare, charles hull publishing, etc) but only so they could establish the social sciences as the replacement for socialism and gain greater control over the national mind via education and entertainment, which they knew would take generations to complete at a slow enough pace to prevent alarm from the populace. What we are seeing right now is a repeat of what happened in the 1920's-1930's when socialism was eradicated except that now the ideology they are eradicating is nationalism.

I wish every day that schools would be the subversive communist institutions that Jow Forums claims they are.

This reminds me of an old white/native American teacher I had. He taught a lot of things, but I was in his European history and psychology classes. He was great. admin will probably not fire you the first time but can give you a verbal or written warning.

Usually the complaints come from parents and in some cases the students make shit up.

In the United States the brightest people are dropping out of the profession or avoiding it altogether. I taught for 4 years (at two different schools) in the US and I could see where the profession was heading so I bailed. There were so many meetings, constantly losing my planning period, mandatory sensitivity training (it was an urban school district), barely having 20 minutes to scarf down my lunch, and they were heading towards central oversight of the curriculum. All of this while working for 50 hours weekly for a salary well below 45k yearly. In 15 years I predict in the larger school districts that the curriculum will be 90% out of the teacher's control and will come directly from the central office. Teachers are not treated like professionals by anyone (administration, parents, or students).

The USA is headed for disaster now that teacher and police officer are horrible jobs that no one wants.

Because you get time off during the year plus summers, administration will put the world on your back. When you complain about it the retort will be how much time off you have. I taught for 4 years and it felt so unbalanced. I would go from being insanely busy for 9 months to doing absolutely nothing. Didn't make enough to take a decent vacation either. The time off sounds good in theory, but the school year is rough. Especially the last month or so because the kids are fucking done since they've already taken the state tests, but administration wants you to keep teaching.

The issue is that most teachers either just print out busywork constantly because they want an easy job with summers off, or are bitter since they failed to amount to anything with their degree so they act like an unreasonable hardass or cunt (Don't let students go to the bathroom during class, giving students 1 day to make up tests, etc.) elementary teachers are fine though

It is scary to think about how many skills are lost to technology. The Galileo satellites (Europe's GPS) went down last week do to some fuck up from Italy, think about all the services that rely on sat nav, how many young people do you know how to read a paper map or use a compass? Entire countries militaries would be crippled if GPS were sabotaged, does the US Navy even train sailors to use a sextant anymore?

1/3 teaching
1/3 administrative/ paperwork
1/3 discipline

and I work in a school that has decent administrators and less than average disciple problems
