They had a bit meeting, now they have to figure out a way to spin the skyrocketing food price inflation during election season. I guess getting the CBC to tell you to eat bugs is also a part of their election strat.
Anyhow, the spinmasters - they are trying to figure out a way to say this:
it's just celery, meat, bread, milk, vegetables, fruit and flour that are skyrocketing in price - everything else is still cheap!
> Trudeau's putting the band back together for October >His participation suggests the Liberals aren't all that worried about rehashing the SNC-Lavalin affair
>Ayo... You want that bread? That'll be $6.59 + tax + tip bro
>Bakers, grocers involved in 16-year price-fixing conspiracy: Competition Bureau
>At least $1.50 has been artificially baked into the price of a loaf of bread during a 16-year-long bread price-fixing conspiracy involving the country's largest bakery wholesalers and grocery retailers, the federal competition watchdog alleged in court documents released Wednesday.
>According to previously-sealed information to obtain documents, the pattern became colloquially known as the 7/10 convention -- with an average seven cent price increase at wholesale and 10 cent price bump for the consumer in stores, resulting in an average margin increase of three cents per loaf for retailers.
>After agreeing on a price increase, the suppliers allegedly met individually with their retail clients -- including Loblaw Companies Ltd., Walmart Canada Corp., Sobeys Inc., Metro Inc. and Giant Tiger Stores Ltd. -- to get their approval for the price hike. The retailers agreed to the boost on the condition their competitors would follow suit and demanded that the suppliers actively manage the process to ensure all retailers were co-operating, the documents said.
>"The alleged conspiracy was a deliberate attempt by management of Canada Bread and Weston Bakeries, along with the retailers, to suppress competition at both the wholesale and retail level and thereby increase the wholesale and retail prices of fresh commercial bread in Canada," wrote Simon Bessette, a senior competition law officer with the Competition Bureau's cartels and deceptive marketing practices branch.
The Grocery Mafias made tens of billions of dollars forcing leafs to pay an extra $1.50 a loaf of bread for decades. This is why a loaf of peasant bread goes for nearly $7.
Is bringing Food from the us allowed or are there tariffs/restrictions? Buying alcohol from Estonia is very common in Finland due to ridiculous taxes

FOOD DOMS ON SUICIDE WATCH
Chris Selley: Could Scheer's devotion to Big Dairy finally break the supply management consensus?
Do Liberals really want to be seen and heard enthusiastically agreeing with their arch-enemy on inflating grocery prices?
>Because Scheer is currently demonstrating in quite spectacular fashion what it actually looks like for a Canadian political leader to be utterly beholden to a special interest group, and it’s not the so-cons. It’s ultra-protectionist Big Dairy, representatives of which bought up scads of memberships during the leadership race and are credibly credited with handing him the leadership over Bernier, who is — for all his innumerable faults — one of Canadian politics’ very few apostates on the question of supply management in the dairy industry.
>“I truly do believe that chocolate milk saved my son’s life,” Scheer joked to a room full of dairy farmers in Saskatoon on Wednesday. Said son was apparently a very picky eater in his early years. The line earned him much mockery, not least because he deployed it as a weapon against the recently updated Canada Food Guide.
Sobey's "Sterling Silver" brand is supposed to be a gourmet cut, not a typical supermarket cut.

You forgot the best part of this story. Those same people who did this scheme came out to the government and let them know effectively protecting them from the law cause of whistle blower shit and they got away with it.

There is no taxes on bread in Canada, so that big wall of a green text starts off pretty badly.

I don't understand how a man can be so obsessed with Canadian grocery food prices that he'll relentlessly shitpost about it every fucking day. Like, out of all the political topics you could possibly read and debate about, this is the issue that you choose? I at least hope you're Canadian, because if you have this much inordinate interest in the food prices of another country that isn't even a major power like US or China, I don't even know what to say...
>+tax + tip Carbon tax is unreal- going to increase by 1/3 for each of the next 6 years too.

Its a goddamn holodomor. Ironic, given how much Cuckdeau supports Ukraine.

Canadian Core Inflation Soars To 10-Year Highs
Inflation is running much, much higher than the government lets on. Any Canadian can tell you that the price of beef is up over 300% and groceries overall about 100% since Trudeau took office. Things like tax and tuition are also running way over 10% per year. The average Canadian is pretty stupid but they all have to live within their means meaning that they all know their paycheck goes less far with every passing year. Every level of government in Canada is squeezing the electorate for more cash to pay for mass immigration and growing crime and homelessness. The government controls the media with bailouts so it is increasingly difficult for truth to reach Canadian eyes or ears.
Pic related: It should be noted that the Bank of Canada uses the Canadian food guide for its trimmed/core/main Consumer Price Index - CPI which is used to measure inflation.
So now chicken, beef, milk and cheese can continue to appreciate in price by 10-20%/year and the CPI basket won't include any of it, just cheap carbs.
Soviet Union tier data manipulation. Amazing.
The government in canada stopped posting their numbers once the canada in collapse threads started keeping track of the real ones using actual photos from in the stores. You can verify this. It's both funny and saddening.
