What you may not know is that once an idea reaches a certain level of social penetration, it takes on a mind of it's own. Once "wamen are equal to men on an ethical level" had penetrated mainstream discourse to the point where disagreeing with it made you a social outcast; the ideas of female equality and the egalitarianism that accompanied it began to take hold. After that, no single group can be responsible for everything that followed. Some groups, like socially degenerative semitic interests pushed it, but their influence alone wasn't enough to propagate it on it's own.
