I had braces when I was in 7-8 grade, then that faggot ass retainer thing for years. Braces fucked my mouth up, yeah, my teeth are straight (kinda) but the fucking things pulled my teeth half out of the bone, I have severe gum recession as a result and have had to get four separate grafts on my upper and lower to hold the fucking teeth in. Fucking unbelievable, and my dad was a dentist. Don't get braces, maybe a retainer or some basic shit, but they cracked my fucking pallet in half to start the damn things and half my upper lip is still numb because the orthodontist severed a nerve in my face. Fuck braces man, fuck them. I'd rather have crooked teeth and still have teeth into my future years than this shit.

There are about a quadrillion things that can cause recession. Orthodontics can sometimes have the effect of causing some recession depending on how far the teeth have been moved buccally/facially (bear in mind every layperson nigger thinks they know what they're talking about when they demonize pre-orthodontic tooth extraction but this is one of the reasons it is performed).

The teeth are held in the bone more loosely since the bone around them is being actively remodeled as they move, but at the same time they are all splinted together as a single unit with a NiTi wire which would theoretically make it harder to knock them out of your head. If there is severe excess gum that's being pushed out due to a space being closed how hard is it for a gum specialist to fix?
I'm not 100% sure what you're describing but having excess gum tissue is always easier to fix than having less than you're supposed to. That shit can be lasered away, etc.

Like I said, having too much gum tissue is probably one of the least concerning dental issues to run into. Worst-case scenario you will have to undergo a brief surgical procedure where a bit of bone is removed and the gingival excess is cut or lasered away and allowed to heal. NBD. Just be glad you're dealing with that and not something more challenging.

Here's an inside scoop for you: My favorite patients are the ones that I don't have to do dental work on. I love nothing more than to see a new patient who has a perfect dentition that requires no work. Doing dentistry is fucking hard and extremely technique sensitive work. Believe me, if I diagnose some shit it's because you have what I'm saying you have. I don't do crowns and fillings for the fun of it.

The more I read about wisdom teeth and ortho, I would have second thoughts today. NEVER get root canals! I haven’t and won’t if ever recommended.
