quick run down of the "Key Lime Pie" mystery elegantly stated from an user within that thread:
"This mystery is about thousands of strange reviews left on various websites about a restaurant called “Kutchie’s Key West”, Kutchie's opened in 1978, it was located in Asheville and owned by Oswald Pelaez Jr. (a.k.a. Kutchie) and Anita Pelaez. The strange posts praise the restaurant and talk about how great their Key Lime Pie is, the reviews are very repetitious and odd, they cover themes of sex, politics and current-affairs but they all have one thing in common thats always mentioned "Captain Kutchies Key Lime Pie". A lot of the posts were done by a "Jake Carson", and tons of other random accounts, but the posts are all very similar. Pic related shows one of the reviews." (cont)
Now if someone were to just come across this review they'd think it was just that, a review. But here's the thing, there is no "Kutchie’s Key West" in business anymore. The restaurant closed around the year 2006, long before the posts even started. The oldest post was from 2009 and stopped in 2016, so 7 years of someone/something posting reviews for a restaurant that doesn't even exist anymore. This person/bot or whatever it is, has thousands of accounts on websites that generally require verified emails or captcha's. Some of the posts are on cooking sites, social media, tabloid articles and sometimes news articles. KLP posts were made on a regular basis until late 2016, when the posting frequency decreased markedly. This decrease in posting coincides with the first mention of KLP on Reddit. Only a handful of posts were made after 2016 and it’s often difficult to tell whether these were posted by the real KLP poster or by copycats. KLP posts the comments under a variety of pseudonyms but Jake Carson, Willie Jordan and Roger Ramjet are the most common ones.
"They all seem to have different posting habits. Jake Carson’s posts are almost entirely copy-pasted, while Willie’s are often unique and respond to the content of the articles they’re posted on. Willie’s posts also contain a LOT of sexual content, they’re almost pornographic. Roger Ramjet tends to comment on articles that seem unrelated to KLP’s usual interests"

These comments contain a lot of language similar to PizzaGate and absolutely steganography is involved. Something in which these seemingly phrases are presented must mean something...if only we had the "KEY"
These comments go way back for at least 7+ years appearing on random cooking blogs, news sites, even facebook etc. All using similar phrases and constantly alludes to celebrities and politicians

Interestingly enough while searching the archives I came across a very recent thread about the Epstein case in which KLP style comments started showing up and a weird dialogue between two anons occured
If you google "Captain Kutchie" or anything similar to KLP posts and use the tool to filter by recent postings there will be KLP style comments on very strange URLs that when clicked will boot you to sex hookup sites. Some of them seem to be the sketchy trafficking type as well.

While searching through google for Key Lime Pie related keywords I came across a Google Group called "alt.folklore.urban" or AFU for short. This is a newsgroup that seemingly has been operating since the early 90s and has notable users such as David Mikkelson (the creator of snopes.com).
I found this thread (see image) that had members talking strangely about key lime pie in a coded way, comparing it to "chicken" and other pedospeak.

Now what's most important about the AFU is the links that will appear in the signatures of some accounts. Many of them lead to no longer existing sites, however I have found quite a bit of them that do lead to still functioning websites that all look like geocities/early 90s type of designs.
Some of the sites i've found all have weird things in common, such as image galleries of "pets" for "adoption" with strange names that almost seem like names of real people rather than animals.

The KLP comments have been going on the internet for 7+ years but I think wasn't noticed until a year or so ago.
This is only one of many websites i've found from the AFU archives that seem to be offering human beings or organs etc. it gets very bizarre if one goes down the AFU rabbithole

They really do but however after spending enough time investigating large amounts of the comments I've come to the conclusion they seem like bot posts. I think the idea is certain phrases = certain letters as well as some key things inserted within the messages. All of the names are obvious references to politicians or celebrities and must be communicating something about them. My guess is that as someone participating in decoding the messages they google search certain phrases and find them buried on these random ass blogs to get their messages and communicate under the radar
