I live in apartment on the last floor and have my AC unit installed on outside wall on my balcony. It is even painted in colour to match the wall and doesnt look bad at all. Everything look bad on commie blocks but the building im living in has only 8 years. Paid for it something about 800 Euros and is able to cool down 102 square meters including heat from the roof to 18C on the hottest days when it shows me 50C+ in sun on my balcony. But its true you need to lay down a lot of money for good AC otherwise you get shit ones that dont do shit

air-hose air conditioners are literally a step up from the more common ones here, the cheap shitty portable ones will cover a room per unit in a house (or entire floor if you're in an apartment or townhouse) and if one isn't cooling your house down just add extra cheap ones in your other windows

I'm at work with air conditioning. Then in the car with air conditioning. Then I go to someone else's home who has air conditioning. Then I go home and by keeping the room in the dark all day it's only 24-25°C and I stay close to a fan. Then I open the windows at 1am for the rest of the night and it's 22-23°C in the next morning.

It's been exceptionally cold around here for a few weeks now.
