I grew up in a 98% white town/small city and thought positively of minorities, thinking race was just skin color. The 2% non-white we had were mostly there to work at the university or hospital. After graduating high school and leaving town to pursue my degree of choice, I ended up living in a couple different predominantly non-white neighborhoods in a larger 66% white city and my opinion shifted out of practical necessity. Since then, I've traveled and lived across the continental United States--East Coast to West Coast, Canadian Border to the Gulf of Mexico--and done a fair bit of reading: the larger my sample size grows, the more I learn about biological racial differences, the more and more of a race realist I become. I still have a number of non-white friends and associates who I respect highly, but the outliers do not define the norm.
